I was pulling up to a light when..........
I pulled next to Toby. He was in his dad’s Mustang. His was a 1967, and mine is a 2005. He smiled and reeved his engine. I did the same. I kept my eyes on the light, hoping it would change soon so I could kick his ass in the race.
The light turned green and we took off. I was about to lose but I had one thing he didn’t, Nos.
I pressed the button and took off. My speed rising, 100...105...110...115. I was winning until a semi came out of no where. It pulled out in front of me. I slammed on my breaks and pulled behind Toby, who was also slowing down. I was inches from slamming into the semi. Me and Toby pulled off onto the side of the road.
When we were out of the cars we just looked at each other. Silence surrounded us for five minutes.
"So that was close," Toby said not even moving.
