At lunch I got to know more about my new friends.

Stacy and Josh had been going out for a year, and were good friends before that.

Brian and Josh had known each other since 4^th grade and been friends ever since.

Andrew, was another guy I had just met at lunch and he was dating Megan, a girl who was an inch shorter then me, brown hair which was curly when I met her. Her and Stacy had been good friends since Megan started going out with Andrew. After lunch when I was trying to pay for my food, me and Brian got in an argument about if I would be paying for my own food or he would pay for my lunch. Yeah that made us late to our next class, I won only because I started flirting with him, and made him cave in. Yeah that made the guys laugh when Brian had realized that I won. He said it was cheating.

I snuck into class, and sure enough Brad was in my class. When he saw I had come in he pointed me to my seat which was behind him. He smelt so good. It wasn’t that cheep cologne like Tag, which still smelt good but his was so much better. The teacher called my name, just as I sat down. I got in class just in time as he was taking roll. Brad turned around and gave me a note. He smiled and turned around. I grabbed the note and it said,

I smiled wow, he made it sound like he saved my life or something greater. And that is what I wrote to him. This made him tense up. I guess I was the first girl to turn him down and not be so charmed by him. My knight, saving me from a tardie. I smiled to my self at this thought. After another round of, " Hi in this class this year we will be doing.....blah, blah.....you need, blah...blah, blah." I left for my next class hoping I would have some of my new friends in it so it wasn’t as boring. As I was walking down the hall, someone called my name, it was Brad.

"You know I just want dinner with you, so I can get to know you better. If you don’t want dinner I understand but what about coffee or something." Man he just wouldn’t give up. "So what’s your next class?" I stopped and faced him, and said, " I have Math, room D213 next," I hope that made him happy, I wanted to see if he had anger issues, so I was being difficult for a reason.

"Well I have then same class, I got to go get my stuff, I know that teacher, and she never gives seating arrangements, save me a seat?" He wait for me to answer. I smiled looked away as if thinking even though I knew me answer, " Maybe," I said and walked away to my next class. As I entered I looked around, everyone but Andrew was in there and they saved me a seat, next to Brian. Right then I realized they were trying to set us up!

I walked over and sat down next to Brian and passed Stacy the note Brad had given me in the last class. " Its from Brad, what do you think." Right when I said Brad, Brian tensed up.

As Stacy looked it over Brad came in. He saw who I was surrounded by. He winked at me, and walked over to his friends glancing at me every now and then. Brian kept glaring at him. Stacy looked up from the note and looked at me but spoke to the whole group. "Looks like someone likes Tia. What did you say to it Tia?" I looked at her and smiled.

"I was a smart ass about it, he acted like he saved my life. As if I’ve never been late to a class before." Everyone was laughing about it but Brian grabbed the note from Stacy. He read it over and through it in the trash. I could tell he was stressed over it, and personally I didn’t know what to do. He looked up and stared me in the eyes and said, " I don’t care what if you become friends with him or not, just...." he paused as if telling me this was difficult for him, " just be careful." He turned away from me and payed attention to the teacher.

Since it was the end of the day everyone was heading home, as I started my car. I looked to my side of the window, and jumped. Brad was standing there. I rolled down my window. He looked at me smiled and said, " What about dinner?" I needed to know him more so I looked at him and said, " No dinner, but coffee is a yes." He smiled and said, " How about I met you at your house in 30 min and I’ll take you to coffee." So I gave him my address and 30minutes we went out for coffee and I learned more about him. He was actually pretty nice and offered to pick me up for school the next day, and I agreed.

After going to bed late because of watching the movie, "Alpha Dog," which I love so much. I had a weird dream.

I woke up from with my heart beating and sweat all over my body, ewww, was all I thought. I looked at the clock and it was 3 in the morning. I knew I’d never get back to sleep so I decided to take a shower, and curl my hair for the school day.

After my shower and getting ready for school, I still had an hour left before Brad picked me up. BEEP,BEEP. I got a text message, when I opened it said.

I smiled at the thought of how he got my number and how he thought he was my knight in shining. I got lost in the moment and almost put yes, when I remembered Brad. So I text him back,

I sent the message and went down stairs for a quick breakfast, my mom was still sleeping and since my dog wanted to sleep I put her in there with my mom and shut the door, as I was about to take a bite of my breakfast bar someone knocked on the door. I put the bar away and answered then door, right when I opened the door a huge rush of men’s Curve came strait at me. Brad was leaning on the door frame, with his head down. He looked up and smiled. " Ready for a oh so fabulous day of amazing school," he said jokingly.

"Yea, come on in. I just got to quick grab my stuff." I said opening the door for him to come in. After I got my stuff I looked at him, he seemed to me amazed by the inside of my house. I thought it was nice. He looked at me and smiled, as if to say, "ready?" I smiled and headed towards him, and he stood there with our faces inches from each other. He leaned in for a kiss and I slid by him and headed for his truck. He stood there amazed at how I rejected and kind of teased him all within 5 seconds.

As we got out of his truck, Brian was watching, but I didn’t know. As Brad and me walked into the school and headed for our lockers, Stacy was standing next to mine, and as I stopped at my locker me and Brad stopped as if wanting a kiss. So I turned to him and said, "Thanks for the ride," I smiled and turned and started talking to Stacy. He didn’t seem to happy that I didn’t jump into his arms and made out with him right there, but I got all the hints I just wasn’t sur about him yet.

As soon as Brad turned the corner, Stacy and me just busted out laughing. "Did....you....just....see....his.....face!!!!" Stacy said with her little bits of breath left she had while laughing. "Oh my gosh I think no new girl has taken this long to kiss him." We stopped laughing.

"I don’t see why, I’ve only known him for what, 24 hours! Man he charming but not THAT charming." I said, after catching my breath. We smiled at each other and we just walked to our first class hoping it was together. And sure enough it was. Along with Brain and Josh again. It was great, we all sat next to each other same arrangement as my class yesterday but on the other side of the room. Brian kept glancing at me. Letting me catch him every now and then. I a note and passed it to Stacy that asked her if we were going out to lunch today. She shook her head yes. I looked at Brian there was more to him. He had that bad boy look but was just so....well he had a soft side. At the end of class I had gym. I walked into the gym. It was a small class since I signed up for it. I like to run and I thought it’d be good for me. I saw Brad was the only person I knew in the class so I walked over to him and sat next to him. He turned and was about to yell at me that the seat was taken but when he realized it was me, he just smiled at me. Just the Brian walked into the class and told me to check my phone. Brad watched Brian’s every move. I checked my phone and it had a text from Brian.

I smiled and shook my head yes at him. He was really trying to win me over and I noticed I felt someone reading over my shoulder and sure enough it was Brad. He smiled at me and the glared at Brian, putting his arm around my shoulder whispering in my ear. "Before you go to oh so amazing Brian, you should come to the locker room I have something to give you." I didn’t like the sound of it but I went with him, only on one condition. If he didn’t put his arm around me to make Brain jealous.

As we snuck in the locker room, he went to a locker and started to unlock it, as I thought he was about to open it, he turned and slammed me against the locker, chocking me. He screamed in my face, "You ever think about choosing your dick of a knight over me I will kill you, I promise you that!" I was running out of air and he loosened his grip just before I was about to black out, and he set me on the floor, sitting next to me.

As I rubbed my neck he said more calm, "Now im sorry I had to do that but you need to understand, you mean more to me than you ever will Brian, so how about you couldn’t get sneak out and you stay with me. I didn’t want to piss him off so I agreed and we left the locker room and went out to class. I was in trouble and I need to get out of it before it got worse.

As we walked out of class I quick ran to the girls bathroom. I had a hand grip bruise forming on my neck. That’s ganna be hard to cover up. I walked out and went out to Stacy’s car. Brian and everyone else was waiting on me. " Okey, im ready." I said smiling hoping no one would notice my neck. Brian looked at me and said, " TIA, how about you ride with me over to lunch I need to talk to you." Everyone said bye, and me and Brian got in the car. It was silent and he didn’t start the car right away. He looked at me with sadness in his eyes. He looked from my neck into my eyes. " Listen, I’m hoping you didn’t met with me for a good reason, and," he paused trying to keep tears from his eyes. I didn’t like seeing him like this. " And I was wondering if you wanted to talk about your neck, and what jackass did it to you even though I have a fairly good idea who."

I looked at him with tears in my eyes, and took a deep breath, " Brad doesn’t want me hanging out with you, but I am not his girlfriend or his property."

Brian put his head in his hand’s. A few minutes later we arrived at the dinner we would be having lunch at. He told me to wait, and he came to me side of the car opened the door and as I got out of the car he.....

HAHAHA CLIFFHANGER!!!!

I looked up in his eyes not afraid of what would happen next. I lifted my chin for my lips to meet his. His kiss was passionate. I rapped my arms around his neck at we continued kissing. He slid his hands down my back, right above my butt. He slowly pulled away, and looked into my eyes, his eyes made me crave more kisses from him. I slid my hands down his chest to his belt loops on his pants, keeping him from pulling away. He put his hands on my cheeks, and without moving for a minute he said, " I will never let Brad hurt you again." And he leaned his forhead to mine. Kissing me one last time and grabbed my hand and we walked in to have lunch.

We sat down next to everyone else. They just stared at us, until Josh looked at Brian and joked, "God dude took you guys long enough to get here and then we got to watch a make out almost turned sex scene happen in the parking lot. Man you guys can we just eat." We all just laughed a little and ordered our food. When we were waiting for our food, Brian put his arm around my shoulder and I leaned against him. Putting my hand on his knee. He smiled, happy that it was the only place for me really to put it. He gave me a quick kiss, and until we heard the bell above the door, ding. Josh and Stacy turned their heads and glared at who ever came in. Me and Brian looked around and saw who came in and I felt Brian tense up. It was Brad, he slowly walked over to our table, and said, " Hey TIA, what you did to me in the locker room was great. You’ll have to do it again sometime." He smiled, he wanted a reaction out of Brian and he got it. Brain was about to stand up but I pulled his arm, and he sat back down. Brad just laughed and walked away.

Brian looked at me and said, "Why didn’t you let me beat his face in," I smiled and said, "Why did you let my little pull on your arm stop you," Brian smiled, " and besides he’s not worth it anyway." His smiled faded and he said pointing at the direction Brad went, "What do you mean he’s not worth it, first he beats my cousin and then puts his hands on my girlfriend." I smiled, we never really talked about if we were going out or not.

"So when did we decide I was your girlfriend?" He smiled knowing I just wanted hear him say it again. I liked the sound of it. " We’ll I was hoping that," I kissed him making him stop what he was saying. I pulled away and looked at him, I smiled, "I would love to be your girlfriend, my knight in shining gum wrappers." He laughed.

After our food came and we ate, we all knew we had to go back to school soon.

I had an off block and I asked if anyone else did. Josh did but everyone else had class. So me and Josh decided to hang out. As I kissed Brian good-bye back at the school, Josh looked at me as I watched Brian walk away. I looked at Josh and said, " Well, what do you want to do?"

"Well I have this hour and next off," I looked at him and then pulled out my info. on my classes. I looked at him and said, "Well your in luck so am I." He smiled at the thought of not being alone until Stacy got out. It was a Friday night because the schools just wanted us to get set up before real work started. So we had two class hours until we could all hang out.

After the first class was up, me and Josh were acting as if we’ve been friends for ever. Laughing and talking about embarrassing moments. Until someone showed up, Brad.

He walked over to us, and we just sat there and watched his every move. Josh put his hands up and said, " Dude, we don’t want any problems so how about you keep walking." Brad smiled at this. I had a feeling Brad wasn’t going to leave that easy. All of a sudden at less four of his friends came out from behind us, looking me up and down smiling. Me and Josh looked at each other knowing we couldn’t fight them off just the two of us. We stood up and tried walking away before they surrounded us. We were to late. Three more of his friends showed up. They made a circle around us and Josh took out his phone and started text someone, anyone really that could help us. Brad walked around me stopping behind me and touched my cheek. I pushed his hand away, this made him mad. Brad was about to hit me but Josh stepped in. Pushing Brad and said, " Beating your ass could be easy or you could make it hard, ether way, back off of my friend." I smiled at how he didn’t just think of me as his girlfriends close friend or best friends girl, but actually a friend of his. Brads friend which I’ve never seen before pushed Josh, and he must of not seen it coming because he almost fell over. Josh’s phone went off with a call. It was Brian, Josh must of text him. Brad took Josh’s phone and threw it behind the circle of guys surrounding us. Then my phone went off. I didn’t reach for it but Brad must of heard it. He walked over to me and whispered in my ear loud enough for Josh to hear, " Ether you give the phone to my nicely or I’ll search you myself for it, and I can’t make any promises I won’t look places I know its not." He smile and I felt violated just by him saying that. Josh tried to by time by saying, " Brad, it was my phone." Brad didn’t really know so he had one of his friends go check Josh’s phone.

I reached into my pocket and pulled my phone out. Trying to not make many movement’s I looked to see who it was. Of corse Brian. Brad caught me and took my phone. He opened my phone and read the text out loud, " Josh told me that you guys need help because you ran into Brad. I’ll be there in five min. sorry I can’t get there sooner! End of text, it’s that sweet." Him and all his friends laughed, "Well guys I guess we’ll just have to do what we came here for quickly." He did an evil smile at me after he said it. I got a gut feeling Brian wouldn’t get there in time. All of a sudden two of the strongest lunged for me I tried to get away but they were to strong. Josh tried to help me but everyone else but Brad started fighting him.

The two guys who had me pinned me to the ground, Brad got on top of me and screamed in my face, "I told you I would kill you!!!" he took a breath and said trying to be sweet, " Listen babe, I don’t want to have to do that so I’ll give you another chance to choose Brian or me. But you have to still be punished." Just how he said the last sentence made me sick to my stomach. I wished that Brian would come to my rescue but the bell for school to be out just rang and he had to make it from one side of the school to the next along with going across the football field. As I was deep in thought, Brad stood up, and his friends let go of me, as I started to get up Brad kicked my stomach with full force. I landed on the ground covering my stomach because of the pain. I looked up and could see Brian and at less 10 guys running across the field. I then looked at Josh still fighting off the guys Brad had attack him. Brad snapped his fingers and said, "Let’s go" He leaned over and whispered in my ear, " Remember how bad that hurt and the remember if I don’t see you reject Brian when he gets over here, you and him are dead." I got tears in my eyes as Brad and his friends ran off into the wood’s next to us. Josh ran over to me and waited for Brian to reach us.

As soon as Brian reached us I was trying to get up. My stomach felt as if a semi had just hit me and put my stomach on fire. Brian helped me finish getting up as I was about to fall into his chest and have him fix everything, I remembered what Brad had said. Brian looked at me and said, "Babe I’m sorry I couldn’t come sooner, We need to get you help." I started to cry but I quick held it in and backed away from Brian, he looked at me surprised I was moving away rather then closer to him.

As I held my stomach and backed up towards my phone which Brad threw before putting me in pain I looked in Brian’s eyes and waited for him to look in mine, and when he did I said, " Brian I can’t be with you. Its not working out." I was almost balling, I didn’t want him or me to get hurt. He stared at me, and I hoped he was getting the message I was sending with my eyes. That I wanted to be with him but Brad. He took a step toward me and said, " But babe, I tried to get here and don’t worry Brad has I coming for him." I took a step back and shook my head no. He looked behind me and must of saw one of the guys that beat me and Josh up move in the forest behind us, because he sent friends into the forest. I picked up my phone and saw Stacy almost to us, running across the field. I looked up at Brian who was still staring at me, not believing what I was saying. I mouthed I’m sorry. To him. I ran walked toward Stacy but Brian stopped me by turning me around. He was talking about how I didn’t have to do this, when I saw Brad behind us in the forest shaking his head no at me, warning me not to go to Brian. I was about ready to break down in Brian’s arms his eye filled with sorrow. I looked away, not falling for it. Trying not to fall for how much I was in love with him. I spoke to him quietly, and not looking at him I said, " Im sorry Brian, but I have to go." And I walked to Stacy who saw I need to leave and yelled at Josh, "Come over to my house later baby I love you." and we walked to the parking lot. When we reached her car, I balled. Not only did I finally find the most perfect guy for me and lose him because of a jackass that had to have his way, but my stomach hurt like no pain I have ever felt before. Stacy put her arm around me and said calmly, "How about you spend the night at my house and tell me what Brad said to make you leave Brian." I leaned my head on her shoulder and said ok. This was going to be a long and painful night.

After going by my house and downing a bunch of Advil and getting stuff to stay sleep in and make up me we went to Stacy’s house. I met her parents and found out she had an older brother in the Marines. Her parents left for the weekend and gave us money to order pizza and get any other food we wanted.

After a while the pain in my stomach lightened up. I went to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror, I lifted my shirt up and looked at my stomach. There was a large bruise. It was dark black and blue, and took up at lease half my stomach. I put my hand on the bruise and it felt like a rib was broken, but I wasn’t to worried. I was only worried about Brian and mine’s relationship. I had to be with him. Other wise I could never look him in the eyes because then I would fall for him all over again. As I was in thought about how bad my stomach hurt Stacy knocked on the door. "Hey guys are coming over soon, so if you want to get changed or something before they come I’m just warning you."

I put down my shirt and opened the door, she was leaning against the door frame. She smiled.

" Before they get here are you going to tell me what happen between you Brad and Brian." I shook my head up and down. We sat down in her living room and I told her the whole story and showed her my stomach. When I was done telling her the story of me and her boyfriend trying to fight off at less eight guys her mouth was hung open. She closed it got up and gave me a hug, and said slightly laughing, " I love my boyfriend, he saves everyone he’s a super hero." She pulled away from the hug and we started laughing. Just then the door bell rang. Stacy went over and opened the door, and Josh raced in. He was so excited to tell us something, we had to tell him to calm down and spit it out.

"Ok, me and Brian got permission and all of us can sleep out on the football field." He smiled, he was proud of himself for making this even happen. He made us jump by saying, "OH, I almost forgot!" and he paused. "So..." I said after he didn’t made us have a minute of silence waiting for him to tell us.

"Oh yeah, so we need as many blankets and pillows you have." Looking at Stacy, and with that said Stacy went to work finding all she could, leaving me and Josh alone.

He looked at me. Looking from my eyes to my stomach. He then took a step towards me and said quietly, "I’m sorry I couldn’t help you. I should of," his voice cracked, " tried harder." I smiled at him and said, " It wasn’t your fault we were way out numbered. Were luck we didn’t get hurt and worse then we did." I looked at his face, and his arms, all cut up and bruised from fighting, I felt bad that it was pretty much my fault he got into the fight. Stacy came out of nowhere with so many pillows that she could barely see where she was going. Josh ran and opened the front door for her, and told her to put them in her car. When she came back in she disappeared into one of the rooms and then came out with five sleeping bags and a large blanket. The she told me to hurry up and we all left for the football field.

By the time we got there the sun was almost completely set. The air was still warm since it was the end of August. We pulled up Josh’s truck into the field pumped air mattresses to sleep on and waited for everyone else to come with the stuff they were assigned to get. After an hour of hanging out and talking the rest of the group showed up. Brian came up to me and smiled, his eyes hurt from what was said earlier. I looked around hoping Brad wasn’t following us around and I walked up to Brian. Our eyes locked, he grabbed me and held me close to him, I buried my face into his chest, and cried. We stood there hugging each other for at lease 10min. And I pulled away wiping the tears from my face, Brian smiled for the fact that I went to him to cry.

After a few hours of partying, something felt wrong. Everyone felt something weird was going on and sure enough, Brad and His friends showed up. Brian tensed up and I backed away from him hoping Brad didn’t see me near him. Brian walked up to Brad, with Josh and Andrew right behind him. Brad had three other guys with him. They were out numbered by one. With Brad and Brian yelling at each other, us girls just watched. Brad walked over to me with Brian right behind him yelling for him not to touch me. Brad looked me in the eyes, his face with no emotion but hate. He whispered in my ear, "In a second you better choose me or you know what will happen." As he finished that sentence Brian grabbed his shoulder tearing him away from me. Brad put in arms up for truce. He looked from me to Brian, and said, "How about Tia decides who she want’s to be with." I didn’t know what to do at that point, both of the guys staring at me. I felt brave and walked toward Brian and looked at Brad putting my arm around Brian and said, " I made my decision." Brad tensed up and anger filled his eyes. He looked at me and screamed, "I told you what would happen if you choose him, I told you, you stupid whore." Brian’s muscles tensed as Brad called me that. Brian took a step forward getting in between me and Brad.

Brad swung at Brian’s face punching him in the jaw. Brian rubbed his face and lunged at Brad getting on top of him just hitting his face time after time. You could see Brad noes begin to bleed. His friends not wanting to get in the middle of Brian’s rage. Brian Punched him a few more times and got up kicking him in the crotch. He pointed his finger at Brad and said holding back his anger, " Don’t you ever, ever again say that about me girl, and if you so dare lay another finger on her or threaten her again you better hope to god I don’t find your sorry ass." And he walked way from the whole group to calm down. Brads friends helped him up, he pushed them away as if to act tough and like he didn’t need them. He glared at me and said quietly so Brian didn’t hear, "You’ll get your turn, I promise you that." And him and his friends walked away. After making sure they were gone everyone went to talking about the fight the just saw. I walked over to Brian who was laying on the ground. I laid right next to him putting my head on his shoulder. He turned his head to look me in the eyes, and I said, "Thank you." and kissed him. He climbed on top of me as we kissed passionately. Then he got up, and put his hands down for me to get up. As I got up and put my arms around him we heard yelling and looked over to the group and saw Josh and Stacy arguing and so we decided to walk over to them and find out why they were fighting.
