    We were in fourth grade. I was 10 and she was only 9. It started when i got on the bus monday morning, and my friend told me that Holland's brain was bleeding and she was in the hospital. I didn't take it seriously. When I walked into the classroom my teacher looked like she was half dead. She knew Holland was my best friend, so she asked me if I knew what had happened. I told her yes, then we left it at that.

    When she didn't come back for a few days, I started to get worried. I started seeing more and more people crying. I guess I still did not understand it. The principal suggested that we pray for her-so we did. More days passed.

     I was really worried now. One day the intercome said that my teacher had a phone call, so she took the whole class on a break. I came out of the bathroom, and looked into the office. My teacher was on her knees crying. My heart began to crumble. Something bad was happening and they were not telling us what.

     By this time rumors had started. Somebody had said she fell in the woods and layed there for a whole day. (not true) I went home that evening and took a nap. My mom woke me up and said i had a phone call. So, i answered it. To my suprise it was the principal. She started by saying "sorry tim, i know you loved her". Followed by" Holland died around 4:13 this evening". I dropped the phone and cryed and cryed.

    The next four days I did nothing but cry. Can you imagine having you friend die at a young age? The pain and sorrow was unbarrable. I went to her wake, and saw her in her cheerleading uniform. The picture of her dead body will never escape my mind. She was so beautiful. She did not deserve to die. Not a day goes by that I dont wish I had taken her illness seriously. Noe I know she has earned her angel wings. IN MEMORY OF HOLLAND TAYLOR.
