A midnight adventure:Time (part 2)

… continued from…”A Midnight Adventure”
….The faint scream echoed from behind the lonely forest. No one was there to hear a word. No one was close enough to hear the desperate cry of a kidnapped soul. Marina’s sweat dripped off of the bitter cold hands that held her to the ground. The man had pulled her to the current position after a final attempt to win back her freedom. The cold ground clung to her skin as her capturer pushed her further into the soil.
“I will win, no matter what, I will win.” The harsh voice seemed to proclaim his victory.
Marina was brutally pulled up without any ounce of mercy. The man lunged her forward into the bleak forest to the opposite direction of her deserted home. With every step that Marina took, she could feel the hope slowly fading out of her body, the man was going to win.
Hours seamed to fly by in minutes as the night’s air soared against her skin. The goose bumps seemed to be a permanent attachment to her shaken body. She could feel him behind her, she could feel his calloused hands touching her silkened neck with every step that she took. The reminder that he was still there, still following, haunted her every move. The idea that she kept conjuring up, kept replaying in her mind, every step would be her last.
An opening in the forest alerted Marina of the trail that she had followed just a few hours, or maybe it was minutes ago, in the rush of the events all time had seemed to cease and the world seemed to be unknown to her. But upon seeing this spot, the realization of the events suddenly crashed into her jumbled mind, and the fate of her future was suddenly shown to her.
There it was, a bleak white van, nothing but a long scratch along the side, stood it out from others. The world seemed to tumble down upon her as Marina spotted the vehicle. The last bit of hope had perished, the slightest glimpse of a rescue would leave as she was forced into the back of van. She could see it happening, but it seemed as if the actual realization wasn’t there.
She seemed to not to be able to comprehend the events. She could remember the feeling, the thrust, the darkness, the metal clang that told her of her captivity. She could hear the cold latch of the lock, but she had no emotion, it was as if auto pilot had been pressed and her life was zooming by as she was just another innocent bystander there to watch the show. The time stood still as her life was captured into yet another box.
The rustling of the keys shook her back into the senseless reality. The motor had started after the second attempt. The car slowly crunched by the thicket of the woods. They were moving even further away from her only home. She was scared, scared for the first time in her life…
