1. “Seth please!” Grace begged him, “I love him, I’m sure there is more to the story. I love him Seth, very much. And no matter what happens, I have Dom. I know he loves me too. He has his reasons for not telling me.” She was babbling but she didn’t care, just hoping what she said was true. “Please stop trying to hurt him, confuse me, and convince me Dom and I aren’t right. I know we are. Please just leave me alone. If you love me like you say you do, leave me to be happy.”
2. “Grace...”
3. “Seth! You’re hurting me too.”
4. Seth answered by releasing her hand and sitting back in his chair. He looked sad, but he didn’t say or do anything more as Grace backed away, then turned and went to find Dominic.

6. Grace ran outside and found Dominic still in the parking lot, pacing next to his truck. He opened the door before slamming it shut again and then giving it a fierce kick. He ran his hands through his hair and held his head for a minute before Grace spoke up.
7. “Dom?” She said it so quietly she wasn’t sure he heard her at first, but she couldn’t force her throat to squeeze the air out necessary to make her voice any louder. She saw him stop and drop his hands and knew that he had heard. “Dominic, I told him to leave I swear. It doesn’t look good I know but…”
8. “Doesn’t look good?” Dom turned then. “It looks like you were pretty cozy in there and that you just got caught.” His voice was smooth and controlled and that scared her more at that moment than if he had been yelling at her.
9. She took a step forward and he turned away. She continued to move until she was just behind him and slipped her arms around his waist. He was hard and tense and continued to ignore her as she hugged him closer but he didn’t move away. “If I were cheating love, would I have told you were I was and what I was doing?” He didn’t answer her. “Do you know how much you mean to me?” Still he kept silent. It was what hurt her and he knew it.
10. “He is just trying to hurt you through me.” Grace continued to explain as long as she had him there. “But he is hurting me to and I told him to leave us alone.”
11. “You two looked like a real couple in there.” He stated flatly
12. “How long were you watching?” Grace asked confused. “Because you obviously missed the stressed beginning and the part where I was yelling at him.”
13. That got a small smile, “You never yell.” Dom told her, finally turning to look at her.
14. “Okay, but I used a raised voice.” She said playfully, trying to lighten the mood.
15. “I saw enough though Grace.” He took her arms off of his waist. “And I know how you feel about him.”
16. “Oh my word! What in the world is up with you guys bringing up the past! What happened in the past is there, in the past. It was before I met you and before I knew how much I loved you. I do not have any feelings for Seth!”
17. It was quiet for a long time before Dom spoke again. “I love you too.” It was said in a whisper, “but seeing you like that brought back memories of my past. I will not be hurt like that again.”
18. “Do you trust me baby?”
19. “Yes.”
20. “Do you believe me?”
21. He hesitated. “About what?” then smiled.
22. “That you have nothing to worry about. I love you, I will never see Seth again and I think he saw you coming and set up that scene to look worse than it was.”
23. This time Dom took Grace into a hug, kissing the top of her head. She buried her face in his chest and breathed deeply of his comforting scent. She stood up on her tip toes so she was eye level with him and kissed his nose. Smiling at him, “I have a thought.”
24. “Oh yeah? What is that?”
25. “I uhm… bought you something for uhm…”
26. He laughed now “Grace your blushing. What did you buy?”
27. She opened the door to his truck and sat on the seat pulling him close to her between her knees. Kissing him a little harder and a little more desperately as she did so. “I don’t know how to explain it?” She said playfully.
28. “Hmmmmm…” Dom moaned as he continues to kiss her back, nipping at her neck, “Try.”
29. With her head back and her eyes closed, it was all Grace could do to not moan as his hands found their way under her shirt. “I think I should just show you.”
30. “Now? I don’t really need anything other than you.”
31. She wrapped her legs around his and pressed herself as close to him as she could, enjoying the way his breathing caught in his throat as she moved against him. “Whatever makes you happy baby. Take me home now?”
32. She moved farther back into the passenger seat and waited once more for him to cool down to get in the truck. When he did, she sat close to him keeping her hand on his thigh as he drove her home.
