1. Grace stopped by the soccer field after work to watch the team practice. She had gotten off a little early and stood in the stands as the team played against each other. She was impressed as she watched Dom pass the ball right over the spot they had had their picnic. She smiled and shook her head. He did have better concentration then she would have had.
2. “Gracie!” She looked down the field at the sound of her name. Seth had spotted her and was running down the field toward her. She groaned and put a small smile and waved. She looked out at the field and saw Dominic look up and see her. Her smile got bigger and she was about to wave him over when Seth reached her.
3. “Hey. I was hoping you would stop by. I haven’t seen you and I wanted to apologize about that day at the café.”  He gripped the railing and leaned in closer than was necessary. “And I want to get together sometime and explain about what you think you over heard.”
4. “You know what? I am okay right now, thank you. I don’t need to go over the past.”
5. “Grace I think if you knew what happened and how I really feel about you, well, you wouldn’t have to settle on someone else.” He looked at her, ignoring the glare she was sending him. “We should have been going together for a long time now.”
6. “Seth, stop it.” She looked past him to see Dom headed their way. “You have never liked me, and laughed at me when I admitted I liked you. I think you just liked knowing you had someone who wished they could be with you, but you know what? It’s over. If what you’re telling me is the truth, then you should have said something a lot sooner, because it sounds weak now.”
7. “Gracie, I really think there is something between us.” Seth took her hand and held it. “At least let me explain myself and if you decide I’m still not right for you I’ll leave, I promise.” He pleaded. “Man I wish I had known about this sooner Gracie, I would have told you before how I felt.”
8. Gracie tugged at her hand but couldn’t pull it free. She looked up and saw Dom had almost reached them and could read the question in his eyes. “Fine! Where?”
9. “What’s going on here?” Dominic asked as he finally reached them.
10. “Nothing.” Grace said as Seth turned and faced Dom smiling slightly. He was still holding her hand. Grace pulled free while Seth was distracted.
11. Seth turned back and said “Thank you Gracie, I’ll see you at Rosie’s café around 6 tomorrow night.” He winked at her and turned, smiling at Dominic and rushed back out onto the field.
12. Dominic came up to her and she leaned down to give him a kiss. “What’s really going on Grace?” He asked.
13. “Seth thinks he needs to explain something to me.”
14. “I don’t like that guy hun; he seems to have something against me.”
15. “I think he is jealous baby. He is just using old feelings I had for him against you, but it’s not going to work, because those feelings are gone.”
16. “You have feelings for Seth?” Dominic stepped back.
17. “No Dom. I HAD feelings, before I realized two years ago he was shallow and egotistical.” Grace climbed over the bars and jumped onto the field. “Don’t worry about it hun, I love you and only you. It took me way to long to find you.”
18. He pulled her close to him and kissed her. “I love you more.”
19. She kissed his nose, “That’s up for debate babe. I love your nose! Did I ever tell you that?”
20. He laughed, “You are funny. So what are you doing here?”
21. “Oh yeah, I have a favor to ask of you.”
22. “Shoot.” He pulled her closer arms around her waist. “And you better hurry cuz I have to go finish the practice.”
23. “My grandmother just got out of the hospital, I wanted to go visit her for awhile, make sure she is okay on her own before she is left alone. And I haven’t seen her in awhile. She is in South Carolina; can you drive me to the airport next week?”
24. “You’re leaving me? For how long?” Dominic asked.
25. “Just two weeks. I know its short notice, but I don’t know how long she has left.”
26. “Okay love, you don’t need to explain. I’ll miss you though.” He kissed her.
27. “I’ll miss you too baby.” She grinned a wicked smile, “You will just have to spend every available second with me now then wont you?”
28. “Hmmmm, you are going to have to do better than that if you want me to let you go for two weeks.” He grinned back, “Or I could go with you, meet your grandmother?”
29. “You could. Do you want...?” She was cut off by his cell phone ringing.
30. “Hun,” he kissed her “I got to go, talk to you later alright?” And with that he walked off.
