1. When Dominic showed up half an hour later she was ready. Well almost ready. She wasn’t the type to go out to parties often, so not knowing what to wear she chose her little black dress. One that really did show off her figure. She felt good in it, and decided if she was going to act out of character tonight, she could dress out of character as well. This character tonight felt sexy and she wasn’t disappointed when she saw the reaction she got from the guys.
2. “Wow.” Dan said when she came down the stairs. “Wow.” He managed it one more time before Jen hit him.
3. “You look amazing Gracie!” Jen said. “Maybe I should go change.”
4. “No!” Dan and Grace shouted at the same time. “Baby you couldn’t look any more amazingly beautiful than you do right now.” Dan said when he saw Jen turn an angry look at him.
5. “Whoa.” Dominic said when he walked into the room. That was all he had to say to start Grace blushing. “I thought we agreed on a towel but I like this too.”
6. “Well the towel kept falling off and I had this flash of me dancing nude, I didn’t think it was appropriate for a first date.” Grace couldn’t believe she just said that.
7. “I had the same thought and I disagree.” He said, surprising her into a laugh.
8. “Should I go change?”
9. “No, I like this even better. You were right; we should save the nude dancing for when we are alone.” Then he winked at her and she thought she would spend the whole night blushing like crazy if he kept looking at her. With her belly doing tumbling tricks, he took her arm and pulled her close. “Let's go have some fun.”

11. “I want you to try something.” Dominic said a few weeks later when he and Grace were sitting at a coffee shop outside.  “It’s from Lithuania, where I’m from.”
12. “What is it?” Grace said taking the offering and placing it in front of her. It was pink. “Looks, uhm, different?” Then she laughed when she saw the look on Dom’s face.
13. “Just trust me will you?” He took the spoon from her hand and took a bite. “See, I wouldn’t feed you something bad. I love this stuff.”
14. Grace opened her mouth and took a small taste. He laughed when her eyes opened farther and she took another bite. “Wow! I like it!”
15. “You look surprised. You should know I have good taste in food.” Dom reached over and wiped some extra off her lip, and then still holding her chin leaned over to kiss her.
16. The feel of his lips on hers still made her dizzy. His hand felt warm and she leaned her head into his hand and looked into his face. “I don’t know about your taste in food hun, but that was good. Thank you for sharing your, uhm, what is this?”
17. “It’s called šaltibarščiai, it’s a col6 soup”
18. “Saltibarsciai.” Grace said taking another bite.
19. He laughed hard, “No, hun, šaltibarščiai.”
20. “That’s what I said.” Grace grinned. She loved his accent and could listen to him talk all day, and she adored the way his voice sounded whenever he started talking about his home land or in Lithuanian. She had never heard that before and she liked it more and more. She shook her head did he just say something.
21. “Are you listening to me at all?”
22. “Mmm hmmm…” She wasn’t hearing a thing. Her head was still feeling a little woozy. “You said you brought more with you.” She said trying to distract herself. “I’m still hungry.”
23. “If you like this you want to try something else?”
24. “I do. What do you have in mind?”
25. “We are going to cook dinner sometime.” Dominic said with a smile. “I will tell you how to cook a real Lithuanian meal.”
26. “Oh no,” she laughed, “if there is cooking and it’s your idea, I will help you, but you’re cooking.” She reached for her iced tea as his cell phone went off.
27. He looked down at the screen and got a surprised look on his face. “Uhm, I have to take this its long distance. I think it’s my family.”
28. “Oh, okay, sure.”
29. She listened to him as he answered the phone and continued to talk to the other person. She was curious now, wishing she could understand. His voice slowly started rising and he turned his back to Grace. The conversation wasn’t long, but when he hung up he took a minute before turning back to her.
30. “Is everything okay?” Grace asked him when he turned around.
31. He started at her for a minute. “Yeah, I guess.” He didn’t sound convincing.
32. “Are you sure?”
33. “Hun, it’s just my family, family issues.” He paused for a bit, “would you mind if we finished this date later? I have some things I need to go deal with right now.”
34. “Oh uhm… yeah okay. Anything I can do?”
35. “No hun.” He stood up and kissed her, then turned and left, leaving Grace staring after him.
