1. “Come on Jen! We are going to be late!”  Grace yelled up the stairs at her friend.
2. “I don’t know why you’re so worried they always make some announcements before the game starts. We will make it. Besides it’s MY boyfriend we are going to watch.” Jen yelled back down the stairs. “Do you think I should wear that cute little yellow tank top I just got or the blue shirt Dan likes so much on me?”
3. “You don’t even have a shirt picked out yet?!? What have you been doing up there all this time? Jen! You know how I get in crowds, I can’t handle it. If you want me to go at all we need to get seats now so I can relax. Crowds make me nervous.”
4. Jen peaked over the top of the balcony looking over the living room. Grace stopped her pacing to look up at her friend. “The tank top would look cute with the white sandals and those shorts.” Grace suggested hopefully. When her friend hurried off with a smile Grace thought maybe now we will get out of here.
5. “Ok we can go now.” Jen said, coming down the stairs. “I can’t wait to see Dan play. He says they have a new guy on the team, and he is really good. Not as good as Dan is though. Oh he is so cute when he concentrates really hard, but you know its fun to try and distract him, maybe I should wear the blue shirt. Then I could wear the shorts I just got…”
6. “NO! Jen I swear if you go back upstairs to change I’m leaving. I don’t need to go to this soccer game. Come on!”
7. “I’m not going upstairs to change. I have the shirt down here.” She smiled, “I’ll be really quick I promise; besides Dan specifically asked me to bring you. What would I tell him?”
8. “Ugh!” Grace fell into the chair and flipped the TV on. She was going to miss seeing Dan play, and she was going to tell him exactly why. He dated the most irritating girl ever!! Finally she saw Jen come out of the bathroom in a green shirt and jeans. Her red hair pulled back into a ponytail and a baseball hat in her hand. “What? I changed my mind! But I didn’t go upstairs.” She walked to the door and opened it. “Aren’t you coming? You weren’t serious about not coming were you?”
9. “No, I’m just making sure you are really out the door before I stand up.”
10. “That’s not funny Grace. I’m not that bad am I?”
11. “Jen, I think that’s the first outfit you decided to wear. Two hours ago!”
12. “No I had an uhm… the first was… I was gonna wear a...”
13. Laughing Grace stood up and pushed her friend the rest of the way out of the door. “Come on we are going to be late. It starts in 30 minutes.”
14. “Plenty of time we will get there with 20 minutes to burn.”
15. “Hardly, it will take 25 minutes to get there, and you have to protect me from strangers.”
16. Jen looked at her “You are so weird. The only person I know who is afraid of crowds and people. But still loves to go out.” She handed Grace a bottle of sunscreen, “We need this don’t forget to put it on this time.”
17. “You’re watching out for me?” She laughed. “What would we do without each other?”
