"Really?"

I knew that wasn’t what I wanted to say, but what else could I of said?

"Yea, a lot"

Did he really have to say a lot. It just makes it harder.

"I like you too"

What!?! I didn’t mean that! I mean I did. But. No. Why had I said that? This isn’t fair, Im fighting with myself. I need to set things right but--. My thoughts were interrupted by Mikey hugging me real tight.

"Oh, Samantha-" He said smiling at me.

"You can call me Sam," I was trying to lighten the conversation, some how.

"Sam, you really like me?"

"Yea, I mean, I like you, you’re a really good friend"

"Oh.....so you only like me as a friend?"

"I haven’t known you for that long and I have a boyfriend back home"

"Oh, you do."

Mikey looked down, looking really disappointed.

"Yea, his names Richard but everyone calls him Richey"

"Is he really nice to you?"

I remembered when Richey hit me. But I tossed that in the back of my head. I was trying to forget about that. I know he didn’t mean it. Well I hoped he didn’t. He said he was sorry.

"Um.....yea, he’s really nice, I’ve know him since I was in the third grade and I started liking him in the fourth."

"When did you become girlfriend and boyfriend?"

"This year"

"Oh, ok"

"Yea"

"Sam?"

"Yea?"

"Do you like me more than a friend?" He looked down at the his hands.

"I don’t know," I said really low.

At least I told him I had a boyfriend, although I feel bad. I didn’t do anything wrong. If so, why did I feel so bad?

"Mikey, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, anything"

"What are your friends like?"

"My friends?"

"Yea"

"My friends back home are awesome, they are the greatest people, they are weird but they’re my boys...and..."

"And what?"

"I might not be able to see them"

"Why not?"

"The reason why Im going to Hawaii is because my parents are looking to buy a house down there. My dad most likely is getting a promotion and if he does, we’re moving."
