Memories ch. 18

She didn’t pick up. I put the phone on the night table beside me and laid down on the bed looking up at the ceiling. I couldn’t go to sleep. It was 2:00 then 3:00, all of the sudden my phone goes off. 3 hours before we would leave to Hawaii. It was Abby calling.

"Hi Sam, what u doing?"

"Um, nothing just getting ready to go to my house, where are you?"

"Im at my house, I finished packing, when I was done I decided to go to the arcade and I saw Tyler with Richey. Richey seemed really mad and he walked over to me. He asked where you were but I thought you went home. So I told him to check your house, but he said he checked there and you weren’t there. He thought I was lying when I said I didn’t know. He broke the side of the wall at the arcade. Im guessing you didn’t tell him about Hawaii, did you?"

"Not really, I can’t believe he got that mad. Well we have to leave for the airport at 4:45 a.m because it takes a while to get to the airport. My dads driving us in his car and the plane leaves at 6:00 a.m. Im going to wake up Miss Ann and tell her Im leaving, I’ll meet you at your house in 20 minutes. Then we can both go to my house and get my dad and we’ll leave for the airport. Now I don’t even wanna say good-bye to Richey. Okay??"

"Okay, I’ll see you in 20 minutes, are we going to eat at the airport or should I bring a snack for us?"

"Um, I dunno, it will be a while to get to the airport and were not stopping till we get there so if your hungry you should bring something to eat.

"Okay, thanks see you in 20, bye"

"Bye"

I hung up the phone and went into Miss Ann’s bedroom. I made my way up to Miss Ann and woke her up.

"Miss Ann?"

"Yes Sam?"

"Sorry to wake you but I have to pick up Abby and grab my things to leave before 4:45."

"It’s okay, okay get some breakfast downstairs and I’ll drive you"

"Okay thanks," I called back going to get some breakfast.

"Don’t mention it," Miss Ann called back at me.

After I heard Miss Ann call back I went to the kitchen. I didn’t know what to have for breakfast. I know Miss Ann told me to get something but I wasn’t really that hungry so I decided not to get anything. When Miss Ann was done and came down stairs, we walked to the car. She drove me to Abby’s house. I walked up to the door and rang the door bell, duh me, it didnt work, so I knocked hard on the door for her to hear me. After a minute I knew she didn’t hear me, so I decided to call her cell, I got my phone out and called her.

After 3 minutes talking to her she met me out front. She had 2 big bags, one of them was purple, it was Abby’s favorite color, the other color was green with yellow flowers on it. It was really heavy, packed with her things. After I plopped her bags in the trunk of Ms. Ann’s car we drove to my home. I got my key and opened the door, Dad was gathering his things for Hawaii. I moved Abby’s bags into my dads car and helped my dad put his bags in the car, the only thing I was missing was my bags. So, I went up stairs and packed quickly, making sure I didn’t forget anything. The perfect timing I heard a piece of wood break.
