Memories ch. 14

I then took my pearl and went inside. When I reached inside my house, my dad looked at me and stared.

"What’s a matter dad?"

"I’ve been thinking and I have a question for you"

"Ok, what is it?"

"What do you think about Hawaii?"

"I don’t know, I’ve never been there."

"I mean would you mind visiting there?"

"You mean now?"

"No, In like a week or so and you could even bring someone with you."

" Yea, do you think we could even leave tomorrow?"

"Why do you want to leave tomorrow?"

"Cause"

" Well I don’t think I can get plane tickets for tomorrow"

"Damn it"

"Why"

"I think it would be nice to get away for a while"

"Does this have to do something with Richey?

"Maybe"

"It does, doesn’t it?"

"Yea, sort of"

"Okay, well I can’t get it for tomorrow but I can get it for Monday, how’s that?"

"That’s great!"

"Do I get a thank-you?"

"Thanks dad"

"No problem"

My dad kept his promise and got the tickets so I started to pack. Later Richey dropped by. He came in through the window again.

"What, you don’t want to take the chance of not finding me downstairs?" I said to him.

"No, just I knew you were up here and I didnt want to take the chance of you making something up again"

"Even if I wanted to, my dad wont let me anymore"

"you shouldn’t do it anymore"

"Whatever"

"Jeeze, your never happy to see me anymore"

I smiled. That was the first time I smiled at him since the beach, that night.

"Why do you think that is?"

"What’s come over you lately?"

"Nothing"

"Fine"

Without another word he came over and hugged me, I squirmed around trying to free myself from his grip even though I actually liked it.

"Let go"

"Common, I haven’t hugged you for a while, please, hug me back"

I gave him a small hug, trying to remember what he probably did so I didn’t enjoy it. Then he let go.
