“Would you like to check that book out Kay?” asked the librarian. She startled the puzzled Kayeisha who only nodded in reply.
“You know, this this book is a reference book so I am afraid that I can't check it out to you. Did you find everything you needed to know?”
“I guess, I wasn't really looking for much anyways.” Kay said. She said goodbye and went to go find Selena. Her friend was talking to a small group of teenage boys at least one grade ahead of them.
“So, I was just going to the mall, do you guys want to come? “ Selena asked the boys, tossing her hair to flatter herself. She giggled as three of the guys smiled at her, though one just stood there, gazing around the empty library.
“Sure, we'll come, though I'm not sure Narc here will. He's kind of his own guy.” the 'leader' said. He laughed at the boy called Narc, who glared at him. The boys walked away except for Narc, who had found something to look at. It was Kayeisha.

“Selena, who is that guy? He looks just like the guy from my dream.” Kayeisha asked Selena.
“Him, oh, that's Narc, his friends just left but I don't mind, I think he is the hottest. “ she giggled at her words. Her eyes fluttered as he glanced over at the sound of his name. His eyes were black like coals and his black hair long and shaggy, complimenting him completely. When his eyes met with Kayeisha's, she instantly went cold.
“Come on Selena, I need to get home or my mom will totally kill me.” Kay said, making any excuse to get away from the library.
“Kay, just call her and tell her that you are going to the mall with me, that way we will be even.” Selena's hand reached for her own phone and handed it to Kayeisha.
“Even? Oh, you mean for me forcing you to come to the awful library where NO cute people are...fine.” Kayeisha took the rhinestone emblazoned phone and dialed her home phone. She told her mom she would be home for dinner. Grabbing her purse, she and Selena walked out the door. Kayeisha didn't realize that as they left, so did the black haired boy called Narc.

“So, who is your friend?” asked Tylor, the leader from the library group. His hands were stuffed inside his blue jean pockets. He leaned against a broken water fountain in the middle of the mall. Coins littered the bottom of the fountain six feet below.
“Oh, her? This is my friend Kayeisha.” Selena said to Tylor. Kay glanced up from her thoughts. She kept thinking about the boy she had seen in her dreams and how much he had resembled Narc. She tried to not think about it, but whenever she though about not thinking about him, she thought about him.
“So, how old are you darlin'?” asked Tylor with a mischievous glint in his eyes. His friends down-turned mouths began to form sly smiles. He took his hands out of his pockets and shifted his weight.
“Oh, she's sixteen. You know what, so am I!” said Selena without thinking. She smiled at the group of large boys. Her flirtatious mind had overtaken her consciousness.
“Selena!” Kayeisha said fiercely. She reached for her purse and began to get up. “Come on Selena, I need to go to the bathroom.” she said, reaching for Selena's hand.
“What? Can't it wait?” She asked. Selena and Kayeisha had made a pact when they were just little kids to always go to the bathroom together in case something happened. Selena glanced once more at the guys and smiled. Tylor smiled a sly smile back at her.
“Wait a minute okay?” she told the boys.
“Selena, we need to go home. Those guys don't look too friendly anymore.” said Kayeisha. She was rushing for the front door.
“What? Fine, but I gave them my number.” grumpily said Selena.

“Where are my keys?” said Kayeisha to herself. She was scrambling throughout her purse for the keys to her Cobalt Sedan.
“Do you mean these?” asked a uninviting voice. It was Tylor and he was holding Kayeisha's keys in his right hand.
“Hey Ty!” said Selena. Her sad face was instantly flooded with flirtatious thoughts.
“How did you get them?” asked Kay.
“They fell out of your purse in the mall. Anyways, I thought you two were going to the bathroom, not leaving.” He said.
“Selena, come on, I'll just ride with you.” Her friend had drove her own car, but had waited for Kayeisha to find her keys.
“You know, I think I will stay here a little longer. Come on guys, lets go back inside.” Selena gestured to the mall and the boys.
“But..” muttered Kayeisha. She watched her friend walk back to the mall. All of the boys but Tylor went along.”

“Hey now Kay, I just want to give your keys back, nothing more.” said Tylor, his sly smile still present. Kayeisha wanted her keys, so she walked over to Tylor to take them from him. Tylor gave her the keys, but grabbed her other hand tightly.
“Come on, come with me.” he said.
Kayeisha realized what was going on and pulled away. She got free but Tylor grabbed her again.
“Let me go!” she said.
“Aw, thats no way to treat someone. Come on honey, come with me.” Tylor said. He grabbed the keys back and opened the car. He began to shove Kayeisha inside...

This part is kind of boring, but it has to happen for the rest of the story to come. I had writer's block for quite a while....hehe
