Dancing with the Devil 2

Creative Created on 3-23-08 Views(42) Story Rating G

Megan's eyes began to bulge as the officer clung to her, his cold hands sliding down her leg. She screamed and dashed away behind another car, careful not to trip. Looking back she began to realize the stupidity of her actions and nudged past the car to get a better look at the corpse. The officer's badge still clung to his chest, inches from where a deep bullet wound was bleeding profusely out onto the wet asphalt. His gun was still in his belt, splattered by a few drops of the drying blood. White leather was left red as the blood dripped down and pooled on the upholstery of the car. An imprint of a passenger was left on the side seat left apparently by the man's murderer.

Lights began to flicker on as people woke from the terrified teen's scream of horror. Emotions were running as Megan realized that she would be questioned intensely by all who were now peeking out of their tenement windows. Clutching her jacket, she fell to the soaked ground tears streaming from her face. Refusing to look at the dead man, she crawled away to the side of another car, resting her tired body. Confusion began to plague her mind as she questioned why someone would kill this humble cop. Of course another thought ran through her mind as she realized she had witnessed the murderer step out of the car.

Megan's step-mother ran up to her as her lime green eye shadow streamed down her face. Pulling her step-daughter to her feet, she quickly rushed the teenager away from the scene. Police lights began to show in the distance for many neighbors had called 911, desperate to give their little apartment complex attention. Sirens flared from the two sleek cars as they began to pull into the lot. An officer stepped out of the car, only to have an awed look sketched upon his face as he realized his commanding officer was the victim and he was late to the scene. Salty tears streamed his face as he called an ambulance and back-up patrol officers. The other policeman did not even exit his car for he could see Megan crying and the dead man that had been shot twice in the chest.

The ambulance arrived, zipping up the officer in a black bag, catching his hair as they closed the casing. Another ambulance arrived to take Megan though she kept telling the kind men she had not been hurt. Their duty was not for physical pain for they could plainly see she was not a victim, only a witness, but to ease her mental pain, something that parents can not always do in extreme situations. Pulling her away from the mused make-up mother, the paramedics whisked Megan away and down the highway to the nearest hospital to be examined.

As for the officer shot, he was taken to the nearest morgue with the look of shear agony and torture still etched upon his face and a silent scream filled his lungs, gasping from his lips.
