She sits in class, wondering where the deathly pale and skinny girl is. Like it doesn't surprise her. She knows that the girl purposely stopped eating so she could stop going to school. Her grades had been slipping. She would drop out too, but her parents threatened her with the punishment of taking her new Lamborghini away. She couldn't have that. So she would just sit in class, thinking of new things to torment the girl once she returned.

The class droned on, her teacher pausing only to hush the clamoring class in front of him.  She didn't pay any attention, it just wasn't worth it. Her parents paid her through school, just so she could have her precious college scholarship.  She never did any homework, and all the other students envied her and her snobbish parents. The money that supplied her education was rumored to be passed through an intricate system of hand downs in order to secure its inner possessions.

Finally, the bell rang. She stood up immediately, she wanted out of the school and fast, so she could go to the mall and spend her allowance of mucho money.  Ignoring her clique, a rare thing, she speedily walked down the hall and opened her locker. Quickly, she stuffed her make up bag into her Chanel bag and sped out the door. Headed to the mall, she wouldn't be home for another two hours.

She arrived at her home only to find an empty house. Her mother, no doubt, was at the spa, and her father never came home before 10:00 p.m.  Scanning the answer machine for any messages, she found one waiting for her. The caller I.D. showed that the school had called. No doubt to collect payment for her tuition. Pressing the button, she grabbed the memo pad and a pen in order to prepare for the message.

The school had surely meant to call her house, but not to suggest a payment. The anorexic girl she taunted everyday since fifth grade had killed herself. There would be no school tomorrow.

She paused for only a moment, not shedding a tear. And for only a moment, she thought, "She got what she deserved."

Later, she cried, but not for the girl, for herself. She should never have bullied her, and she regretted every stinging word she had ever said to the girl. But none of that would change what had happened.

    It never would.

*to all you bullies, be nice, or this might be you someday*
