After I had found out that I was given away by my own mother I was hurt beyond repair, I felt an emptiness inside which no one could fill. My mother and father then told me that we all had to go to court to finalize the adoption but it was up to me if I wanted to stay with them.

Of course mom and dad I love you both so much and only want to stay with you I said.

My dad Deron broke down with tears of joy and replied by saying I love you too sweet heart I  can't imagine not having you here, You are my daughter and I don't see it any other way.

My mom Liza on the other hand did say that she loved me but the look in her eyes told me something else I just couldn't quite figure it out yet.

We went to court the following month I was scared to death being there cause my mom Liza had told me that there was a chance that my birth mom Danielle might show up. Deep down I hoped that she would show. Just to let me know she even cared and she wanted me back.

I sat there with my parents waiting for the judge to finish speaking, Finally she said Ginny I need you to come up here on the stand and answer a few questions I need you to answer. I was so scared I couldn't go I just shook my head no letting the judge know that I didn't want to come up there. She said it was ok and she understood and let me answer from where I was.

The first question she asked me was " Do you like the people you are with?" I replied by saying yes.

"Do you want them to be your parents"

Of course I do I love them I said with a huge smile on my face!

Then next thing I know it was over and Deron and Liza were announced my parents.

The really cool thing was I got to change my last name from Wrighter to Brown. I  asked my dad if I could change my first name as well since I hated Ginny since it was spelled funny. Why couldn't my birth mom at least give me a normal name I thought. Well dad said no but told me I could change my middle name if I wanted too. Another name I didn't like either Andrea' so I had it changed to Renee' I wanted nothing more but to feel normal!

My birth mom never showed up before we left the courthouse. Which I kinda knew she wouldn't but I still hoped for it.

When we got in the car to leave my mom Liza turned around and started yelling at me.

How could you do that she asked?

Do what? I was scared I had did something wrong.

How could you? Why the hell didn't you go sit on the stand you could have ruined everything you little shit!

I started to cry and my dad looked at me and said you did a great job honey.

Then Deron turned to Liza and yelled back at her telling her that she better never yell at his daughter ever again. It fell silent from there no one spoke a word the whole way back home.

I had never heard them argue with each other so it scared me pretty badly, But I let it all go cause I was so happy to finally belong to a family!

 

A couple days later my dad came to me and said I have some exciting news to tell you. We are moving to Athens Ohio!!

What I yelled, Daddy I love it here! I don't want to leave all of my friends! They don't even have a mall there are you nuts I'm not going!

Dad then said sweetheart I retiring from my job and I would like you to be raised where I was born and raised it's so much safer.

I understood what he meant by being safer since we lived in Indianapolis Indian which was such a big city with drive by's on the news every night.

So I said fine I'll go cause I knew my dad was getting old and he needed to enjoy his older years since he is 65 already.

So next thing I knew we were moving to Athens but for some reason my mom didn't want to go.
