It all started when I was 12 years old when a big black lady came to my parents house. She started asking what seemed to be a thousand questions, like do you like it here? And will you show me your room sweetheart? With my parents permission I showed her all my toys my huge bed my cool t.v. and my favorite stuffed animal ever a teddy bear my dad got me when I was three.

When she was finally done checking out every single thing in the house she said her good byes and very sweetly told me she would be back.
I watched out the window as she walked to her car and drove off.

I went right to my mom and dad and asked them why she was asking all those questions and looking over our house like that. My mother looked me in the eye and said we need to talk to you about something very important Ginny. We went into the living room and sat down. As I sat there I finally learned why I had a white mom and a black dad and me being black.

My dad told me that my birth mother had given me to them because she was going to prison for stealing my great-grandmothers credit cards. At that age I really didn't understand why any one could just give up on their child and say they were done after having them for the first year of their life. Why could I have stayed with a family member or something? Why did they just hand me over to complete strangers?

I went to my room heart broken I thought my life was over! All I could feel was hate and anger towards every one even my parents whom have raised me of the last 12 years.
