Land of the Free

Drama Created on 5-2-07 Views(81) Story Rating G

We have such amazing guys fighting for the freedoms we do have... I know some of you disagree that we actually have freedom, because of our laws and such, be we have alot more freedom than other countries, and all most people do is bitch and moan about the right we don't have, so many people take America for granted. Go move to a different country! Then you will really see why America is the land of the free.

You complain about how Bush runs our country. Well, what if you live in Iraq about 10 years ago and had Saddam as a president?

You complain about how you do not have the right to marry your same sex partner, or murder your own child, just because you did not want it. Could you imagine if it were legal to kill your child? What if your mom didn't want you. So, she goes to a clinic and pays 300 dollars to have you brutally ripped from her own body. Leaving you dead, and her possibly unable to have more children. It's disgusting.

You complain because you can not smoke where ever you want, while another young mom lays in a hospital bed dying because she has lung cancer. The lung cancer was caused from second hand smoke. She was exposed to it on and off throughout her life at various food places and such that allowed smoking in thier buildings. Now her precious children will grow up, and have to know the pain of never knowing thier beautiful mother.

You complain about wars, while another man dies in the midst of the wars. Fighting for all these freedoms oyu take for granted. Dying because he loved you, and this beautiful country. He wanted to fight in this war, for this country, and he supported it 100 percent, unlike you. We have the freedom to protest. To put down our president and our troops. All for what? Because we don't agree on it? Well, that's why you aren't in the military.

You all complain so much. I'd like to see you live in the poverty of a 3rd world country. With rags on your body, dirt from head to toe, starving, contaminated water for you to drink, and disease taking the lives of your loved ones. Having people control your every move. maybe then it would be fit to complain, yet they never do. So, why do we? In our spoiled, over indulgent society. Where we are trying to stay stylish, while others just want a bite to eat.

Funny, you don't consider this the land of the free, when it is more free than any other place. Where you have the right to believe what you want. While others die for thier beliefs. Where you can wear whatever you want and eat whatever you want, while overs scavage for a meal and some sort of rags to cover themselves with. We have the right to complain when it is hot and turn on our AC, while others burns and get beat if they complain. Yet, we are not free?

Well, I know we are. I support our president and our troops. Maybe we don't have all the freedoms we desire, but I am glad for the ones we do have. I am proud of all the men and women who put themselves out there for us. Our country isn't perfect, but it's better than any where else. I will never complain about our country, because I love it.

WaterSheerie Maybe this is going to sound really bitchy, but our freedoms were never in danger from Iraq or any other middle Eastern country. The only danger to our freedoms this country faces comes from our own goverment, i.e. the Patriot Act. The war has nothing to do with 'preserving our freedoms' as much as it has to do with oil. And imposing our will on others. Yes, I support our troops, by wanting them to come home. And the ability to speak out against the goverment is a freedom that people should partake of, and not be afraid to use. Its not complaining, its using the rights and freedoms that every American has and should use.
