As my cold body sweat on to the sheets my unconscious bbody was sleeping but not peacefully. Grabbing my pillow I turned and twisted gasping for breath, tears running down my face. In my dreams I saw myself as a child growing up, then a flash and there was my mother standing before me. She was dressed in white clothing, upon a black wall. She turned in a circle and her clothing turned black and she blended in with the wall. Running towards her I hit the wall and began running away, my clothing all white. I fell and my clothes turned black, I was then in a room and all of the men I had slept with were around me. Turning in circles I saw their faces staring at me. My body now naked. As they began walking towards me Kane began saying my name, Lori, Lori, until it became an echo, an effect coming down from the ceiling, someone from the conscious world saving me from my self inflicted torture. Sitting up now snapping back in to the conscious world around me Dana stood over me as I grasped on to a black pillow breathing hard. Looking over at her I began crying and fell back down and placed the pillow over my head. I had a bad head ache and felt sick. Dana grabbed the pillow and looked at me asking me “what the hell is wrong with you”? I looked up at her crying and she looked back down at me. Looking at me again she was about to say something but I got up and ran to the bathroom and began throwing up. She came in and told me “when your done get dressed I’m taking you to Mandy”. I didn’t understand what she meant but I did what she said. After my nausea subsided and I got dressed we were on a bus. I finally asked her “where are we going Dana”? “To Mandy”. Looking confused and annoyed she replied “the free women’s clinic”. Numbness ran through my body and I stood up “What do you mean the women’s clinic! They will send me home to my parents!” Pulling me back down Dana whispered in a stern voice “Nice way to make a scene miss holly wood! And no! they wont send you home its confidential! They wont do anything but check you out and find out what the hell is wrong with you. Calmed a little I sat down and relaxed until the buys got to the clinic. Freedom women’s clinic was on the clear door inside the hospital building. There were women and children in the waiting room, it was packed with other patients. Dana walked up to the desk and said something to the lady at the desk and she handed her a paper. Dana grabbed It and brought it back filling It out for me she then brought it back to the lady who gave her a number. It read 82 and she had just called number 81. Dana looked at me and said were lucky its usually a wait of an hour or five! Looking at her I just shook my head. When a lady came out she called my name and Dana walked in with me. A lady smiled and led me to a room, smiling at me she was pretty but looked tough. She had long light brown hair and olive skin. She was short and wore a white coat that read Dr. Melovido. Sitting up on the doctors table I looked at her an smiled nervously. For a minute I felt scared until she asked Dana, “another minor?” Dana nodded her head. Looking at her Mandy smiled and said don’t worry your safe with me, I have a special unit for girls like you. It took years to develop but it is what it is. I treat you for free no questions of your whereabouts asked. Your safe here. But I must urge you even though I know its probably not an option that you return home and take this pamphlet on prostitution and how to get out of the business. Nodding my head she then continued with a “now lets get to the important part and check you out. She asked me I assume you are sexually active. Nodding my head she then asked do you use drugs, looking over at Dana she said Mandy come on you know how it is. Mandy looked at Dana and me and said yes but I have to ask. I nodded my head. She continued with what are your symptoms. I answered her with a “ um, I feel tired and weak, but I think its from the hours I work. I feel like I’m gonna throw up ever once in a while and my head hurts pretty bad. The doctor looked at me and asked “do you practice protected sex. Shaking my head “no not all the time, you know you get paid more that way, but I take a pill when I can get it to stop becoming pregnant. Mandy looked at me and then sighed “ok were going to do a full std test and a pap, also I need you to think Lori, could you be pregnant. Pausing I stared in to her eyes and she stared back “I I take those pills.” “Lori those pills aren’t always real honey now think when was the last time you had your period?” Now trying to think even harder I felt light headed. Now scared, and very suspicious of the possibility.
