Laying in his arms he hushed me calmly, he told me “everything is going to be ok, You wont die, I wont let you. Thinking to myself I thought, “how can he be so sure”? “He can’t control lif and death, no human on this earth can determine that one hundred percent”.  Laying there in his warmth and comfort, the same comfort of sipping on steamy hot chocolate on a rainy day, it just brings comfort through your whole body. That’s what I lay in. The comfort he brought me was just as calming. I lay there crying out loud until that turned into silent tears and the tears turned to sleepiness that lead into my dreams.  I awoke to a different feel, the room was no longer filled with the evening lighting and my lights were off. The room felt still and calm. This feeling determined that I was the only one awake. Yet I didn’t feel alone, I felt like someone was with me. I then realized I was still in Ethan’s warming embrace, he was sleeping, his head leaned back on a pillow and we were covered by a blanket. I could tell my mother had been here, she always made sure I had covers.  I was surprised that she had allowed this, that Ethan’s parents had allowed this. I was happy though. I felt so relieved, he made me feel stronger than I was, he actually gave me a little more to fight for. Yes I had my family and friends, but he gave me a passion and a fire that burned deep inside of me. I didn’t know if I had cancer yet, but I had a feeling. My body knew something wasn’t right and my intuition was full with a warning. I lay there telling myself I needed to know what time it was, gaining the strength I leaned up just enough to look over at my alarm clock. The bright red numbers shined brightly in the pitch black room. They read 3:03 a.m. My body gave way as I fell back from weakness on to Ethan’s chest. A immediate “Huh”! Escaped his lips. Sitting up a little making me sit up from his support his eyes looked down upon me as he whispered “It’s ok, I’m not going any where, you can go back to sleep now. I love you Ems”. Heart melting and tears rolling down my cheeks, my words paused a moment as I gathered my voice back to normal. “I know, and I love you too. I love you too”. My voice faded as my consciousness escaped me, my dreams overcoming my reality one more.
