It was one week after my math exam adn honestly, i had forgoteen about it all. It was like Tim had said, it didn't really matter in the scheme of things.

I fiddled with my shoe laces on the park bench as Tammy continued to ramble on.

"And even if i did like him, which i dont! He is going out with that slut from West-Side, he's taen, unavailable, out of my reach."

Tammy had a way of re-stating th eobvious in as many different ways as she could muster.

"It's useless, utterly useless. My love life is ruined..." she concluded, crossing her arms and leaning her back against the bench in defeat.

"Tammy," I sighed, "It's just another stupid guy in your life. There are pklenty of them, i'm sure you could get any guy you wanted to."

Tammy's eyes glinted and i could tell the jealous streak in her was about to erode a little piece of our friendship.

"Oh what? The perfect guy? Sorta like Tim?"

I bit my tougne.

"How many times do we have to go over this, i didn't know you liked him."

"Well you should have!" Tammy flared. "It was obvious!"

I rolled my eyes and continued to prod furiously at my shoelaces, which i had tied in a tight little knot.

"Well i've apologised. But you have to understand i like him an awful lot...i think i might even be in love with him. He is so supportive, you know?"

"No, i dont know!" Tammy said bitterly and stood up.

"Look i have to get home. Mum said we are going out to tea for dad's birthday..."

 I stood up and gave her a quick hug. 

"Well i'll see you tomorrow at school?"

Tammy glanced down at the ground and then turned on her foot, strutting off down the street.

"Maybe!" she called back.

So much for Tammy being understanding....
