Why she wondered was she nervous? She has never been nervous to go on a date, but it wasn’t a date it was a business meeting that was it. Bella grabbed her purse and checked her appearance one last time before leaving the room she had chosen to be her own.She was wearing her favorite jeans and a V-neck sweater that fit snuggly to her slim frame. Just as she was walking down the stairs she heard the door bell chime. “Come in dean it’s unlocked” she called out. The large door creaked as the guest opened it.“You shouldn’t leave your door unlocked in a strange town being new and all” Dean answered as he walked in with a hand full of wild flowers. He handed them to Bella.She looked at the flowers in awe they were so pretty. “You didn’t have to bring me flowers Dean thank you they are beautiful”“I know I didn’t have to but I like to give flowers to beautiful woman such as yourself especially when I take them out on a date” she walked into the kitchen and put the flowers in some water.“I thought it was a business thing not a date” she called out to him.“Why can’t it be both” he responded as she walked back into the room “Come on lets go” He showed her around the small little island. Its not a very big place and everyone knew who Dean. She was sure she would like it there and everyone was willing to tell her stories about the old mansion she lived in.“This is Mrs. Stoney’s place she knows everything about everyone here and I think she knew your grandfather if you ever want to find out anything here is the place to go” Dean opened the door to the small café. The owner who the café was named after had decorated it in an old country feel there were pictures on the walls of old farms. There were little roosters decorating the center of each table.“It’s very umm… country in here” she said as Dean led them to a table in the far corner of the café.“Yea Dolly that’s the owners name Dolly Stoney you’ll meet her soon she always wanted to live on a farm but didn’t want to move off of the island so this is as close as she will ever get” they both sat down “but the food here is good and the service is friendly” a red headed waitress walked up to their table.“Well Dean, it’s been a while where you been” she asked as she pulled out her tablet.“Hey Suzie, I’ve been working off the island lately and now I’m showing Bella around the island she is new here.” He winked at Bella “She owns Briar’s mansion”Suzie’s attention was immediately turned to Bella “Oh my god are you livin there? You know its haunted right, maybe you’re like the one who is supposed to find the guy that would mean that there is an evil witch after you did you know that?”  the red head practically bounced up and down while telling Bella the news.“Now Suzie it’s just a story anyway I’ll have steak and mashed potatoes what would you like Bella?”“Umm… I’ll take the same with iced tea thank you” Suzie took their menus.“Hey Suzie send Dolly out too when you see her” he said as Suzie walked away. Dolly was an old lady with white hair that she wore in a tight bun. She was as wrinkled as a raisin and very eccentric. She wore a bright purple dress and flip flops. She was also the sweetest lady Bella had ever met. She told them stories about Bella’s grandfather before going back to the kitchen to help out. But before she left she told Bella to come by anytime and she could tell her anything she wanted to know.“Your right the food was good” Bella was saying as Dean pulled up to her house “and Dolly is so cute I think I could really like her.”“That’s good Dolly is everyone’s friend, sweet lady” he walked Bella up to the door “so we didn’t really discuss much business”“Yea but I figure I got enough references from the people in town so when can you start” she smiled at him as she put the key in the door. He moved closer and she continued to look at him as he put his hands on her hips and dragged her closer. She took one deep breath as he put his lips to hers. It was a slow but wonderful kiss.He pulled away slowly. He hadn’t expected to feel this kind of connection but he did. “Well then I guess I’ll be seeing you tomorrow right?” all she could do was shake her head yes. He opened the door and closed it behind her as she stepped inside.“Oh my god” was all she said before going to bed.
