The wind whipped, the sky grew grey, thunder rumbled. She saw him from her spot on the cliff high above the house. He would not get away from her, not this time. That retched woman would not have him. He belonged with her no matter what fate says. She would change that. Even if she has to use magic. Martha would not give him up without a fight.

The wind ruffled her hair. As Isabella Cambell stood at the bow of the ferry she watched the little island become larger as they approached. She didn’t know why her grandfather had left her this house or why he even left her anything. They hadn’t spoken since she was a small child her mother stopped talking to him when she married Bella’s stepfather. But in any case it was left to her and she was sent some pictures. It was a beautiful three story house that had been in her family for centuries. Bella figured she would go and check on the possibilities of the house. She had called ahead to make sure she could arrange transportation when the ferry docked. To her surprise it was there waiting when she got off.He saw her walk off the ferry. She had mahogany hair that was in wild curls down to her shoulders. She was slim. She looked so small and fragile. Her skin was golden. As she got closer he could see that see stood at about 5’6” and he could see that her eyes were large and emerald green. She was definitely attractive. She saw him looking at her. He was very nice to look at. He had dark brown almost black hair with dark blue eyes. She figured he must stand at about 6’2” he looked a little rugged. He had sharp features and although she couldn’t see she had a feeling he was strong. “Hello” he walked over to her “are you Isabella Cambell” She put her hand out to his “Yes I am but people call me Bella” he shook her hand.“Would you like help with your stuff” he offered as he was taking one of her bags out of her hand.
“Sure but there are two more and one is large its on the boat still” she walked behind him to the car “I’m sorry what was your name?”He put her things into the trunk and started to head for the rest of her things “Oh its Dean Patrick nice to meet you” he loaded the car and helped her into it. She smelled good like wild flowers in the spring time.He got into the driver seat “Where you headed?”She smiled at him “Do you know where Briars mansion is at?”“Yea, that place is a little creepy I don’t think any one has lived there for at least twenty years what do you want there?” “I’m going to check it out, you see my grandfather left it to me in his will so now its mine.”He drove down the rode and pointed to the left “You see that building there that’s it” “Oh my the pictures didn’t do it justice it looks like a castle” he made a left turn on to a broken rode that was in need of major repair up to the mansion. “It could use some love huh?”“Yea it could they call it the witches castle there are all kinds of stories about it mostly urban legends but they all circle around the same story everyone in town knows about that house”He pulled up to the house “Really I would like to hear them some time”“It’s awfully big to stay by yourself you should have someone stay with you” he helped her take her things to the entryway.She opened the door with the keys that had been mailed to her from her grandfather’s attorney. “Oh I’ll be ok for now I like to be alone some times but in a few days I might look for someone to rent a room or two out to and a handyman to help fix the place up and stuff I’ll be renting a car tomorrow so I’ll see to a few things then but if you aren’t to busy maybe you’ll give me a ride to rent a car tomorrow?”He looked in at the front room but couldn’t see much in the dark “Yea that sounds ok I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon to get you” he shook her hand and went back to his car.
