The Guardian

It is October 5, 2005. THe sun has gone down. I sit here in my car. Different things going over and over in my head. Never in my life at the age of 27 did I think I would be a securtiy guard.
It all started back in 2004. I became a security guard for a devious security company. It wasn't the best job in the world, bit it paid the bills. I would sit in a guard shack night after night watchin junk, that someone was to greedy to give away. Ummm let me think or should i say take off the junk themselves.
Anyway, there I sit in a little gurad shack, barley enough room to hold 3 people. It was a tight fit then. So I worked 11p-7a graveyard shift. That's when the rogues would come out to play.
The place I lived was fomous for its rogues, and just so happen the guard shack was in the same holler. Just think me a female tryinmg to protect worthless junk. It was one night in particular that got me thinking about changing my career.
It was a hot June night there I sit all alone in the guard shack. I was organizing some paper work, when the dogs started barking. The only thing I had to protect me was a can of mace. So I grab the spot light and of course my mace. I opend the door slowly, I stepped lightly outside trying not to be noticed. I seen a truck sitting down by the stuff I was watching. I also heard voices. So I slowly crept closer to the truck. Spot light in one hand, and mace in the other. I didnt want to turn it on , because I wanted to get close enough to see if I reconized them.
Slowly, closer I crept, gravels turned under my feet, and my hands was shaking. What if they see me? How will I get away? Questions such as that wsa popping in my head. I slowly approched them. Now within 500 feet away I turned on the spot light. I din't reconize either one. I gave them quite a fright. They jumped in their truck, and high tailed it as far as they could get.
I ran back into the guard shack, and grabbed the phone. I called the cops, and then my supervisor. I was scared to death. I was shaking. All alone, no one there. What if they came back? What if they try to hurt me or even kill me? Questions like that running through my head.
God I wish someone would hurry, and get here. I saw headlights round the corner. Oh Lord! Was it them, or was it help? Please God let it be help. The vechicle came closer and closer. Oh no it's a truck. It's them! I grabbed the phone, and about time i picked it up it rung. I said,"Main Gate." No response.
The truck turned off the headlight's as it approached the guard shack. I was unable to see who it was. It stopped , Lord please help me. The phone rung again, "Main Gate," I said. No response.
