It was Feburary 2006. I got a phone call that my 12 year old cousin was on his way to the hopital. He had a allergic reaction to Bactrim and antibotic. I was told he was one big blister. He was prescribed the medicine for a kidney infection. But anyway, as he was at the hospital no one knew what was wrong or what to do. The doctors was in shock and had no idea how to relieve him of his pain. He had a blister under his chin the size of a watermelon and some all over his body ranging from the size of a baseball to the size of a basketball. The child was dying. He was then transferred to Shriner's Burn Center in Ohio. WHen he arrived they busted his blisters and bandaged him from head to toe. The doctor's told us he had developed Steven Johnson's Syndrome from the Bactrium. It has burnt 97% of his body inside and out. As we waited his lungs begin to get weak. We were praying nite and day. He had to be put on a ventalature for 3 days . Doctors said it was a long road ahead for recovery. He spent 5 weeks in Shriners and ended up blind from the syndrome. Shriners was so good down there. I didn't realize how wonderful and caring those people are until we needed them and let me tell you they was great. To make a long story short. Today my cousin has very little scaring and now is able to see colors. God works in mysterious ways and give the doctors and people the knowledge to help us. So each day we wake up the first thing we should think is Thank you Lord for waking me up this Morning.
