A princess. The word danced around my head. I was a princess; I had always been a princess. It was odd to think that all the year I had spent as a child dreaming of becoming a princess that I really was one. And here I was being offered everything I used to dream about.
          The dreams of my childhood played across my mind: servants waiting on me hand and foot; all the princes in awe of my incredible beauty and power; the elaborate dresses and through huge balls that all the lords and ladies would travel far and wide to be present at; everyone celebrating my existence as I roamed the room dazzling them with my delicate wit and graceful charm.
          “How do you know?” I asked, unable to believe.
          “My mage informed me. He could sense you as soon as you stepped foot in the land.” She explained.
          “Sensed me?” I asked, perplexed.
          “Yes, he can sense where everyone of the royal bloodline is.” She elaborated.
          “Then why didn’t you come sooner?” I questioned.
           “The sorcerer had placed a cover over his dwelling shielding it from my mage’s sight. Then when you left you were always moving and it is difficult to get an accurate reading of your whereabouts unless you’re still.”
          “Wait, so he can see where I am at all times?”
          “Not exactly see, but know, yes, although he wouldn’t know what structure you were in or who you were with.”
          It seemed to make sense so I moved on to the next question.
          “How did you get in here?” I posed.
          She replied simply, “My mage transported me here.”
          “How did he know I was here?”
          “This building is a sacred place since it is the bridge between the spirit world and here so he has full vision to this place at all times, in here he can actually see you and there is a special power in this room that allows him to send people here if they so wish. As soon as we uncovered that you were in this place I had him send me here so I could fetch you.”
          “How did my mother end up in the other world?” I moved on, satisfied with the other question.
          “She ran away dear. She didn’t want to assume the responsibilities of being queen and so she left.”
          “Oh..”  
“Now, we must transport back to the castle so we can get you ready for your coronation.” She stated, holding her arm out to me.
          I didn’t move.
          “Why can’t I be with Kainen?”
          “He will only ruin you dear, you should never trust them. Tricksters they are.” She shook her head and frowned at me. “Plus, they are inadequate for a girl like you and would do no good in a royal family. You need a strong handsome prince by your side who can help you rule.”
          “Then I’m not going with you.” I declared, “I rather be with Kainen then become a queen.”
          “You must become queen! It is in your blood!”
          “Then I will be queen with Kainen by my side.” I avowed.
          “No you will not.” She crossed her arms and glared at me, daring me to contradict her.
          “Then find someone else to be queen!” I yelled. “I love Kainen, and he will be a part of my life one way or another. I can live without your silly crown, but I can not live without Kainen. I have just spent so long fighting to save Kainen; I will not let you ruin it now!”
          She took a step closer to me and grabbed my arm.
          “I will not have my granddaughter behaving in such a manner.” She growled, “Did your mother not teach you any respect?”
          “My mother is dead.” I spat. She leaned away from me slightly, the anger on her face softening softly.
          “Oh yes, that’s right.” She said sensitively. “Your mother would want you to accept your rightful place on the throne.”
          “No, my mother would want me to be happy.” With that I pushed her away, enough to get her off of me but not enough to make her fall. Then I swiftly bent down to pick up the egg that held Kainen’s soul.
          I had barely gotten it off the floor when out of the corner of my eye I saw her preparing to strike but I wasn’t fast enough to get the egg away as she brought her hand down on it hard slamming it to the floor. I cringed as it hit the floor with a crack.
