I’ll never let go again
“hey just go to the party…I’ll be there…make sure no one sees you… Okay I have to do something first.” says a man in a black cotton button up shirt, blood red tie, and black pants.
“okay whatever you say.” says the voice on the cell phone.
The cell phone reads CALL ENDED.
Inside the party Selene signals for the band to continue playing. Slowly the party goers begin to dance again. Even Selene begins to dance. At the lake Timber stands and brushes herself off and walks around a little bit to regain her composure before entering the party. Timber hugs herself as if to hold herself together. She takes a deep breath and turns back to the party. She walks in and some people stop to watch her as she goes back to her seat. Four people enter the party and stand in the back. Selene stops dancing and walks to the center of the room everyone stops listens.
“Juliana please join me. It is 10 pm, two hours until the last dance. Please choose your partner.” says Selene. She steps away. Timber circles the room. Just then the band strikes up a song. At first Timber pays no attention then she hears…
“I don’t want a lot for Christmas… there is just one thing I need. I don’t care about the presents…underneath the Christmas tree. I just want you for my own. more than you could ever know. Make my wish come true, baby all I want for Christmas is you…”
“GERARD!!!” Timber cries as she runs to the stage. He gives a toothy grin. The boys continue to play and they all smile. after the song ends Gerard reaches Timber and holds her close. She whimpers.
“are you okay? Something seems different about you” he says worried.
“yeah I’m still hurting from my last match.”
“it’s all okay I’m here now. And I’m never leaving you again.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too Ti.”
The walk to the center of the room and the band starts to play. They hold each other close. Victor lets out a small growl with jealously. Fang stiffens. Selene is not too happy either seeing that he showed up. But it is tradition that keeps everyone in their place. The same tradition could very much be the end to some. They have until midnight to be with each other. The song soon ends.
“sorry to break up the reunion but Juliana, may I please have the next dance.” interrupts Fang. Timber lets out a sign. Gerard bows up.
“look fang it’s been a while since I‘ve seen him…can I please just spend some time with my boyfriend before we’re torn apart and I’m forced to watch him fight.” she says with a softness in her eyes that he understands. He responds to her slient request with the same softness.
I understand, Juliana. don’t worry I still do love you, I know you love me to. You just can’t show it because of how much you love him. he tells her. I will go along as the BIG BAD WOLF…
“Juliana you are supposed to dance with all top potentials. You can pick your favorites but you still have to play fair.”
“just leave us….”Gerard says
“it’s just one dance. I’ll promise you that you will still have your time with her before the fight.”
“okay shut up and dance.” timber says
“what?”
“hey, hey, hey, look Gerard go get the boys I want you guys to sing me another song.”
“okay. But when the song is over no more interruptions until the fight.”
“fine.”
“fine.”
He goes and finds the guys.
“this song goes out to a very special lady. We all know her. I love you Timber.” Gerard says as the band strikes up to DEMOLITON LOVERS. Fang leads Timber the dance floor looking at her with eyes full of passion. As they start to dance all others stop and watch. Gerard infuriates watching them. Victor walks up.
“hey do you mind, it’s my turn I haven’t danced with her all night.”
“I guess I really don’t have much choice.”
“thanks.”
“what?”
“just dance.” victor says. Without another word they begin dancing again. Gerard becomes even more furious and jealous. He knows what victor is telling him.
“yeah take a good look. This is what it’ll look like. You know I’m your biggest threat. In a few more minutes we will settle this for good.”
“okay the song is over.”
“fine I’ll see you later tonight. I will fight him to the death for you timber.” he whispers in her ear.
Timber walks towards the stage.
“it was beautiful.”
“well it was for you.”
“we have 54 minutes until midnight.”
“well we have 54 minutes to be ourselves.”
“let’s go then.” timber says as she pulls Gerard by the arm out towards the lake. There she phases.
“you know you don’t have to show off to me.” he says as he phases too.
“yeah but I wanted to.”“I guess I can give you that it is your birthday.”
“we are here to forget about today and what tomorrow may hold. I don’t want anything other than what is now.”
With that she leaps into the air and comes down hard onto the platform. And takes off towards the woods Gerard by her side.
“where do you think you’re going. we have 45 minutes until the fight. Come back now. You have to dismiss the party and take your place.” Selene growls at timber.
“yes Madame. Gerard come on we have to go back now.”“okay I’m with you.”
“when we get back you will have to leave me and take your place. Gerard I’ve lost so many people. And many other will die because of me. Please don’t let me lose you too. I love you too much.”
“don’t worry I’ve been training too.”
They make it back to the party to meet Selene’s cold face.
“just went for a quick run. There are no rules against it. And I am back in time.” timber says as she walks past Selene.
“friends family. Please join me as I walk to the platform.” Timber announces as she walks right pass Selene again and walks straight for the platform with a certain arrogance leaving everyone dumbfounded.
“wow what got into Timber?” Ray says
“I don’t know but I like it.” Victor says as he pushes pass everyone.
