Learn. Love. Be free.
She was right. I can’t hold on to the night. I couldn’t make her become the one I lost. I became blind sighted. I never saw. Never saw my girl grow up. Never saw the woman she had become. All I saw was her mother. The moon goddess’ spell on me. I do wish her well. I hope she finds her wings out there. Her mother has tried all she could. She forced her to stay. Forced her to trade away her freedom. Her heart was so warm. That’s what I loved. But as the year went by I could tell her heart slowly became ice. So I gathered her things. And set her off. Before she left she told me it wasn’t me. I crowned her that night. My pack became hers. She will one day come back after she figures out how to be herself. For she grew up as her mother now the real Luna is lashing out. So no more chains to hold her here. I won’t have to smell any more of her tears. As Luna’s night begins to fill. My heart begins to chill. I’ll sing it every night she’s gone. Right after her mother’s song. Her eyes no longer hold her mother’s power. But of a power of her own. So go now my daughter. You do have to do this on your own. Learn. Love. Be free. One day this life, their life, your life will be up to you to lead. She begins to run now towards the lake. She doesn’t know I do. She fell tonight. Became intoxicated with his smell. Her mother desperately tries to hold on to her. But I held her back. I can’t do that any longer. I won’t cause her anymore hurt. Let’s go now all my loyalties. Fill the night with only her hopes and dreams. They begin to howl again singing our tune. Singing by the light and rhythm of the moon. Her mother sways back and forth like the wind whipping through the trees. She loves the sound of my voice. The moon goddess seemed to reach down herself and rubbed my ears. She told her son that he’d find her there. My daughter Luna loved the sun. She would run all night just to make it to the lake to catch the sun’s first light. Twilight the happiest times to me always to her seemed like the darkest part of a terrible nightmare. For her mother would hold her there. Dawn always seemed to melt her cold heart. Only time her heart overfilled with warmth. This is her hour to become free. Her mother’s last whispers running through the trees. Luna’s nightmares begin to turn into daydreams. My love. Lost. My saving grace leaving me. I don’t fret. Because she’ll be back to take care of them. So tonight when she’s gone and when I’m done singing their songs. I’ll write my will. Give it to my second in command to hold until we need her again. Lock it away. He nods his head. He’ll send for her when my time calls. But that’s far from now. So go now my loyalties. Run through the night. Enjoy this time. Leave me still. My time to sit here and watch over my daughter. She has made it to the lake. There with that boy Drake. No wolf name yet given. His father is the alpha. Look out dear. You’ll travel from here to many other states. You’ll find yourself in endless fields of daisies. Living your life so far without a care. That’s during the day. In the sun. At night your mother will try to shine through. Be strong. I know that holding you back was wrong. He loves you it’s easy to see. You mother used that same spell over me. But yours. Yours is quite extraordinary. For yours is carefree and wild and full of rebellion but safe. Your heart melts when ever you see his face. The lake that’s your place. The lake when the sun reflects off the water’s dancing rhythm. And as the rocks gather the sun’s warmth. You curl up there and watch his splash around. For tonight you meet his pack. The one that will teach you their ways. And from there she will go and learn more. Her mother seems to gave me the power to she her future. She will lead a pack along side Drake. Drake will save her life more times than she will know. She will always say that she didn’t need saving. That’s her strong minded will. His father will grow suddenly ill. He will have to grow up and learn to lead on his own. She will stand by his side. Wait! Something in the background stirs! WAIT! IT’S GROWING FUZZY! AND SOMETHING’S NOT RIGHT! DAMN! The power is slipping away. Oh well. It was nice to see what our baby will grow up to the beautiful strong woman we hoped she would always be. I don’t fret. I filled every father’s dream I got to see what my daughter will grow up to be.
