Summer School Chapter 6

Creative Created on 3-22-09 Views(194) Story Rating PG13

Since he was the one with the vehicle, I rode in the passenger's seat and stared out the window. It was quiet inside the truck with only a few minor questions. Well, quiet until half way home. Then the questions began. Yay. Not.

"So, what're you planning this summer?" Uncle Johnny asked me, and I couldn't really tell if he had put a sarcastic tone in it or not. Or whether he just said it to get rid of the tension in the truck. I would answer anyways.

"Well, right now I'm in summer school." At that, he seemed surprised. "Yeah, stupid bitchy teacher." Did I mention he is the only one I know that doesn't care whether or not I cuss? I didn't? I did now.

"So...doesn't school get out at three?" I shrugged and he glanced over at me with a sideways look that asked why I wasn't in school then.

I rolled my dark eyes and then answered. "Yes, but in my books, it gets out at eleven. That's the way it is with seniors in the regular school." I sighed and it filled the empty space of the truck.

"Ahh...then should I drop you back off at school?" He asked and I had a sudden feeling that that would be better than going home...so I nodded.

"Thanks, Uncle Johnny." We were sitting in front of the school in the truck. "Hey, you staying for dinner?" Well, if my mom cooked dinner.

"Yeah, I'll be there, kiddo. Now get your short butt out of my truck." He said it in a low growl, but his voice was teasing and gave him away.

I rolled my eyes. "Bye, Uncle Johnny." And slid from the truck.

"Bye, Kiddy Kim." A small nickname that was passed between the family members for me was Kiddy Kim. I was a strange child when I was younger. And my family was even stranger.

I nodded once before slamming the door shut and turning to face my hell as I called it.

The old brick building was worn down, but had a new interior...sort of. There was the same guy leaning against the fire escape, but I ignored him. No reason to talk to a scum bag, after all. The parking lot was littered with vehicles of every kind but I ignored that too as I made my way to the emergency stairwell.

He was standing in front of the steps so I stopped once I got about a foot from him, then crossed my arms. "Move." That single command often got attention. It didn't this time. "Move it scum-bag." I shoved my way past him, but he grabbed my arm.

Dun! Dun! Dun! Another encounter with the badboy. Ooh-la-la. Anyways, I hope that this one is longer. Well, leave some comments anyways and night!
