10 steps to too late: part 2

Megan jumped up out of her bed, fearing the worst. Why else would a phone call come in at # in the morning, she had work, she couldn't be dealing with this. "hello?" she said sleepily. "
"excuse me is this Megan Katheriy?"
"why yes it is and who my i ask is calling at 3 a.m?"
"this is Hunter Witts from the New York City law department, located of of-"
"I don't care where your located can you just tell me so i can go back to sleep"
"Yes, um...it appears 2 of your family members have been reported 1 dead and the other dangerously injured."
"who may i ask?"
"Some one named Melody Rin has been murdered by Alec Boviere, the victim who was fatally woundeds husband and the murdered victims sister. We need you to stop by, you were left in Melody's will."
Megan covered her mouth and tried to stop the tears from falling. "okay I understand so where is this located?"
"Oh you didn't care remember, so why should I tell you now. Lady listen my job is already hard enough without you being all cranky making it h-"
"If i have to track you down it won't be pretty, now give me the adress buddy!"
Megan ran to get a pen and paper and wrote the directions down. "and i pray to god your not her lawyer buddy!" she added before hanging up. She walked back to her bed paralyzed and tormented. One of the most closest people she knew was gone and the other might be soon. Fearing for her sanity she layed down and fell asleep sobbing.
The alarm clock rang. Megan pressed the snooze button and lifted herself up, she had to go to the will reading today and it wasn't gonna be pretty. She looked at the clock and gasped. "The will reading!!! I only have 5 minutes to get ready!!!!" She sprang up out of bed ran to her closet and threw on the first thing she could find, grabbed a bagel, and her tooth brush and ran out of the door. She ran out the door and into the city. The crowds were unbelievable today so she had to squeeze her way through while brushing her teeth and fastening her shirt. She had no idea what she had on really she just knew it had buttons.
She arrived at the office and zoomed inside. "sorry I'm late." she said out of breath. "but I hit the snooze button and the alarm went off and the traffic...I mean crowds I walked cuz I don't have a.....car that's...right...in the..........garage...ugh!...oh my god!!!"
The lawyer looked at the so-called business woman with scraggly brunettes hair, tired green eyes, two different color socks, boots, leather mini skirt, and orange sweatshirt with a white one over it."Please have a seat Ms. um...Katheriy" She looked around her family which she hadn't talked to in over 3 years were staring at her, in their fancy business suits and smug adittudes. She turned away and faced the lawyer. He flipped on a t.v. screen which had Melody and her sister reciting a will. "To our dear old sis Meg. we wanna leave you our whole business and the rights to it." "I can't handle it alone." Hazel said giggling. "To our mother I leave my possessions, My father my money, and to aunt fio-" Megan dozed out if Melody was dead then that means...Hazel was still alive, she had almost forgot that Hazel was still alive. She jumped out of her chair and jumped up and down. "Oh my god he does smile upon us!" She said almost falling. Her family looked at her like she was going mad and her mother snatched her down. "Did marrying that bastard of a husband make you forget manners no daughter of mine is going to act in such a disrespectful way!" Megan snatched her arm back in fury. "He wasn't a bastard you hag! and this is why we don't speak!"
Megan raced out the door once again and ran all the way to the hospital. She asked the nurses where her sister was and ran up to the room. But she wasn't expecting her to be in the condition she was in. When she flung open the door there was poor Hazel with 3 breathing tubes in her throat and one on each side of her nose a full body cast, with I.V. cords attached to both her arms and dried tears on her face. All she could bear to do was stare and cry
