"Why did you transform her, Sean? We forbade it for a reason! It's dangerous! She could've died!" Sean's mom, Ashley, screamed at him in the other room. "Don't you think I know that now? If you had told us it was dangerous I would never had considered doing it in the first place! I love her, I hate myself for putting her in danger like that and I never plan to again. I thought I'd die if she did or if she hated me for fucking up like that." Sean said. "Watch your mouth, I am your mother and I don't want to hear you swearing. How can you two be in love? You just met! And done give me that love at first sight bull. I won't buy that for a minute." Ashley asked. "I've been spying on Sara when she snuck out of the house and everytime she went to see Gabriela. By watching them I got to know her very well. They don't know it, but I've been spying on them for years." Sean replied tiredly. "Okay, well how does she know she really loves you? Did you put a spell on her? That's immorale and not to mention it's forbidden by the Council of Elders!" Ashley ranted. "I would never do such a thing! How could you suggest that? I guess I'm one of the few guys in her life to ever treat her right and it intensified her feelings for me." Sean replied. "But what will you do if she determines that she does not really love you and she wants to break up with you?" Ashley asked already sensing that this girl held her son's heart and she feared the girl would break it. "If she does not love me, she does not love me. I only hope she does but if she doesn't I will tend my broken heart and let her go." Sean said feeling his heart ache just at the thought of losing her already. "But will you be able to follow through if the time comes?" Ashley said as she went back in the living room to check on Gabriela's condition.

   Sean sat there staring off in space and thinking about what his mom had asked him. Could he? Could he let the only girl to capture his heart leave him? Or would he force her to stay? Sara came in the room her face paler than usual and shook Sean out of his thoughts. "Mom knows Gabe is one of the Geralds. She said she thought she had killed Gabe years ago when she had finished torturing her. Gabe's in there crying but dad won't stop mom or let me comfort Gabe. I think mom's going to kill her! Please help her," Sara said as tears poured down her face," She needs us!" Sean jumped up and ran into the living room. Before his father could stop him he ran next to me and put himself between me and Ashley.

    "She's one of the enemy! Did you know that when you transformed her? You have dishonored the whole clan! We must kill her before the others find out!" Ashley screamed as she lunged forward to get at me and kill me but Sean blocked her. "You protect a Geralds? You dare defy me and risk dishonoring our whole clan? Fine! Then I'll kill you, too!" Ashley screamed this time lunging at Sean to try to kill him but this time his father, John, stopped her. "We can't kill one of our own, Ashley! It is forbidden! We must bring it before the Council of Elders before we can lay a hand on him." John said resonably. "Can't you let us leave and if any one asks you can say that we were slain by one of the Geralds. We don't want any trouble. We just want to get along and leave the war. We're tired of fighting, we want love and peace!" Sean said. "You are stupid and ungrateful! This world has no peace and no love. Get out of my house then! The three of you! Yes, Sara, you too. You knew she was a Geralds and you still befriended her! All of you out! But if I ever see any of you again, I'll kill you on sight!" Ashley yelled.

    Sean gently picked me up because I was too weak to walk and he didn't want to leave me alone with his mother while he packed. After they packed all of their belongings Sara and Sean (carrying me) walked to the abandoned factory. I tried to walk along the way because I hated being a burden but standing up I nearly passed out again so Sean had to carry me the whole way. I felt so useless I could barley move now because trying to stand up had drained what little strength I had regained. When we got to the factory Sean gently laid me down on a blanket Sara had spread out for me. "I'm sorry this happened. You can't even recover in a warm house. I'll never put you in danger again." Sean said. I looked up at him and he looked so sad I wanted to cry. "It's okay. You... You didn't know." I said trying to sit up to comfort him. He needed to know it wasn't his fault, that he didn't need to beat himself up over it. He got alarmed and tried to tell me to lie down and conserve my strength. "No," I said, "You need to know it's not your fault. You DIDN'T know. What were you supposed to do? How could you have known this would happen? Would you take it back if given the chance? Would you force me to be different than you? Would you push me away? I don't wish this hadn't happened. I could've died but I didn't. That must mean something." He started crying and turned away. I turned him to face me and wiped away the tears gently. "I wouldn't change what has happened for the world because that means there's a chance I lose you. Would you risk that?" I asked as I started crying, too. "No, never. I love you. I'd never give you up and I'd never risk losing you." Sean said. I smiled. I had gotten through to him. Sara came up out of nowhere and started stuttering so badly we couldn't understand her. "Calm down, Sis. Now, what's going on?" Sean asked. "The Geralds are coming! All of them! It's a search party! They must be looking for you, Gabriela!" Sara said panicing. "Calm down. They'll never think to look here." Sean said. "That's just it though! They aren't looking everywhere for her! They are on a DIRECT COURSE HERE! Mom is the only one besides us that knows about this place. She must've changed her mind and had the Geralds tipped off so they can kill us for them and she won't get in trouble for it!" Sara said really starting to really panic now. "Let's get our stuff together we'll leave before they get here." Sean said. "Too late." said a deep and menacing voice from the door way. They looked over and at least thirty people were there. Gabriela looked at the man who spoke and with her voice shaking with fear said, "H.. Hey Commander D.. Dad. Wh.. What's on the schedule?"
