As I stood there cradeling the phone, Amy appears grinning widely. You can't hide nothing around Amy! She sensed something the moment she walked in. "Hmm so does Leah have a secret lover I should know about?" She asked with that sparkle in her eyes. "Um no," I said trying to hide that grin that managed to excape my lips. "Hmm best friends don't lie to eachother," said Amy folding her arms beneath her breast , while smiling. "Oh ok , you caught me!" I said releasing a small chuckle.
"Yay, I just knew you would get over him," She replied running to give me a hug. "Ring , ring," roared my phone. "Hello?" I anwser. "Um is this Leah?" Replied the voice on the other end. Suddenly my lips formed a wide smile, because I could recognize his voice, it was Kyle. "It might be," I asnwered gigglying. "Oh now I know this is Leah, you can't possibly fool me with your "hard to get" attitude," he replied laughing. "Well anyways, I was wandering if Leah might be interested in maybe a date with me?" He said with a sarcastic tone. I could tell by his shaky voice that he was actually nervous.
" Sure why not," I said in a cheerful tone. I could hear him release a breath of relief on the other end , as I told him. "Then its settle, you, me, and dinner at olive garden at 6:00 pm sharp," he said happily. Thats when we both hung up. " Omg a date with Kyle!" I screamed loudly jumping up and down. "Did you just say that you , Leah, have a date with that cute guy at the bar," asked Amy unable to hide her smile. "Oh , Amy I am so excited!" I told her.
So I raced to the shower and picked me out a sexy black dress. I was ready! I walked to the livingroom and quickly glanced at my clock.
"3:00 pm ," I moaned. So I just lay there anxiously awaiting the arrival of my date. Sure enough when 6:00 pm rolled around there was a steady knock on the door. When I heard the knock on the door my heart began to race, and I darted quickly to greet Kyle. When I opened the door I couldn't help but to gasp. He was absolutely handsome! He had his dark hair neatly groomed, and he wore some nice kacky dress pants with a button up white shirt. I stood there gazing up and down his body drinking him in until I was interrupted.
"Are you ready to go?" He asked with a wide grin. "Yes," was my only reply. I just hope he didn't notice me checking him out so long. As we were walking to his car I couldn't help but sniff the sweet aroma from his cologne. "Right this way to the Limo," He said smiling real big. Instead of a limo , there was a green pickup truck parked. "Limo?" I asked sarcastically. "Um well this is my kind of limo," he replied with a wink. On our way there it suddenly became quiet. Many thoughts of Trevor were flowing rapidly through my mind. I couldn't take it no more, suddenly I began to release my tears.
He quickly pulled the car over. "Are you alright?" He asked gazing sensitivly into my dark green eyes. Before I could stop myself I spilled my whole life story to him. The whole time , he just sat there comforting me with a warm smile. Suddenly his warm smile grew to a serious expression, and he grabbed my hand. "Please Leah , if you will let me I will be the man Trevor never has been," He said never removing his eyes from mine. Before I knew I was wrapped in his arms and we were kissing passionately.
After that night there was no mistaking that Kyle would be the one to replace Trevor.
1 YEAR LATER___________________________________________________
Before I knew it a year had already passed since that one date with Kyle. Sure enough Kyle had proposed to me and we became husband and wife. All those nights alone, when Trevor would abandoned me were gone, also the nights when Trevor came in drunk were all so gone. I was worry free from all the abuse Trevor had put me in. To add on top of all that, Kirsty phoned me durig that one year period. "Please , Leah forgive me, I understand what you meant about Trevor," She asked me so hopelessly. Instead of making up with her I never again answered any of her calls. Kyle still lives up to his word to this very day , He indeed more than the man Trevor ever was!
