I was almost home free and no one was even around to stop me! I finally felt free at last! I just had to urge myself to move forward and finally leave this life I know as pure hell. I carefully slipped myself out the window , and began sliding myself on out. Thats when my pants caught on a tree limb and I hit the ground with a thud. Landing on that bad ankle, I stood up and immediatly wobbled away out of site.
My ankle began to cramp with every step , and I had to stop and rub it. Soon the summer air began to heat down on me , leaving me swetting as I continued on. It seemed as if I was headed for the middle of nowhere! I couldn't stand it anymore, I slowly kneeled down holding my ankle, and soon an endless river of tears were flooding my eyes.
It was only seconds after that when my crying was interrupted by many crunching leaves in the background. I quickly stood up, and glanced all around me. "Whos there!" I called out. Nothing happened. Suddenly I was grabbed around my waist. I screamed at the top of my lungs trying to kick lose, praying that it wasn't Tommy.
Looks like one of my prayers had finally been answered, because there holding me tightly in his arms was Jonah. "Jonah!" I screamed with the life back in my voice. I buried my head in his shoulders and began crying, but this time both happy and sad tears mixed together. "Audrey what happened to you?" He asked with such concern. "Nevermind that, how did you know where I was?" I asked with a little confusion in my voice.
"Well, as soon as your aunt kicked me out of your house, I got a little worried , so I hid in your bushes for awhile. While I was there I guess I sort of dozed off , but I was immediatly awoke , when you hit the ground with a thud, so I removed myself from the bushes and followed you and here we stand," he explained with a large smile. "I'm so glad , Jonah!" I shrieked hugging him tightly.
We both got a little tired from all that walking , so we both took a seat on the grass. "So, what exactly did your aunt do to you?" Jonah questioned me. "She believed Tommy!" I said with an outburst of tears. "Audrey , calm down!" He said wiping my eyes. "Jonah, Tommy raped me again!" I yelled up at him. Suddenly I could see his face turn red and he immediatly got to his feet. He turned himself back in the direction of that hell whole in rage. "Jonah, Stop!" I pleaded.
He just stood there angrily slowly trying to calm his self. He finally cooled down and grabbed my hand calmly. " You know I won't let that little basturd touch you like that again," he said with a serious gaze into my eyes. I just turned away and started sobbing. "Jonah, its not going to get better for me, he is just going to keep on doing it!" I shouted through tears. I would rather die , than to continue living in that hell of a home.
Jonah whirled around and stood directly in front of me and threw his hands on my shoulders. "Don't ever talk like that, Audrey!" Jonah shouted. My head fell back on his shoulders , and cryed on for a little while longer. He didn't seem to mind it tho, because he just sat there with me cradially my head. I love that boy so much!! The night began to grow very dark, almost pitch black, but my sweet escape was suddenly turning into a nightmare.
The sound of loud rustling leaves and heavy breathing filled the area. Jonah and I quickly got to our feet , and began looking all around us. Thats when we saw him, The dark blond glow of Tommy. "You little bitch , just wait until I get my hands on you!" He yelled wobbling around swinging his fists in the air. "Omg, are you drunk, Tommy!" I yelled after him. "Audrey , your mine, and imma kill your little fucking boyfriend!" he screamed racing in Jonah's direction.
"Jonah!" I yelled. "RUN!, AUDREY!" He shouted at me. His words hit me like a moving freight train. I sped off, not even daring to look back. My tears seemed to follow me leaving the scene, because they slid off my cheeks into the grass as I ran. Thats when I came to the park, which was rather scary at night. I shifted my glance all around me staring at the abandoned empty park. I took in all my misty eyes could see, and directly in front of me I spotted the park bench.
I quickly plopped on it and turned on my stomach, shivering in fear. I couldn't sit straight up, because I had already applied way to much pressure on my poor ankle. I was an emotional wreck, it seemed that I was hurting inside, almost a pain like I was bleeding inside. I tryed to relax myself, then an image of Tommy flashed in my mind. I balled up my fist and pounded the old, wooden bench until, I couldn't pound it no more. Just then I was grabbed around the waist. "Oh shit!!" I screamed, turning towards the dark figure grabbing me.
