I stood there frozen in time, watching him flip through my sketch pad. I didn’t know what to do.

 

“give me my sketch pad! Who do you think you are going through my stuff!!”

 

I tried to snatch it away but he didn’t let me. He smiled.

 

“Theses are really good”

 

My face turned red, bright red. I knew if josh saw me talking to Marcus he’d flip.

 

“Just give me my sketch pad”

 

 I tried once again to snatch it away, but he wouldn’t let me.

 

“Why do you cheer wit all those preppy bitches when you have real talent?”

 

I didn’t know how to reply... I had always wanted to be captain of the cheer squad and I had never been told that I had talent before.

 

“Because it’s all I’m good at... now please give me my sketch pad!”

 

“No... Can I ask you why all these sketches are of me?”

 

“Because... uhh I only sketch at cheer practise and you’re always under this oak tree....”

 

“Ohh uhh ok”

 

“Now... can I have my sketch pad PLEASE!?!”

 

“Ok here but can I have one?”

 

“Fine you can have one...”

 

I was waiting for Marcus to choose a sketch when I saw josh running towards us, he looked really angry... he pushed Marcus out of the way and held me agented the oak tree by my throat.

 

“What the fuck do you think your doin talkin to that fuckin ni99a!?!”

 

“*cough* i-i-i wa *cough* nt"

 

I couldn’t speak , nobody was there except me josh and Marcus...  I felt joshes hand leave my throat... I didn’t know what was happening, I was confused. I saw Marcus on josh punching him repeatedly.  I fell to the ground once again I felt weak and light headed and dizzy. I fell into a deep sleep I must have been unconscious or something .

 

I woke up in a dark room. The walls were blue and I was lying on a single bed. I sat up rubbing my eyes trying to figure out where I was. I slowly got up and walked to the door. I walked down a long passage, I opened another door and saw Marcus lying on a bed, he turned to see who was at the door then he quickly got up.

 

“hey are you ok? You shouldn’t be up yet”

 

“I’m... I’m fine but where am I?”

 

“oh umm your at my house”

 

“why am I here?”

 

“well I didn’t know where you lived an I couldn’t ask josh...”

 

“umm can I go home please I don’t feel good”

 

All this time I was thinking that Marcus was looking soo hot because he only had cargo shorts on with no top... gawsh he looked so hot

 

“its bout 2 am are you sure you want to go home now?”

 

“umm I- uh if its ok I’ll stay”

 

“yea dats fine”

 

He was smiling, my face when red again.

 

“umm I’m just going to get some fresh air, k?”

 

“yuhh I’m goin to have a shower, I fell asleep before an forgot to have one”

 

“ok”

 

I walked out of the room and through a few more rooms and out the front door. I sat on the front porch listening to the grasshoppers humming and the shower flowing. I sat out there for about 15 minutes thinking about what had happened yesterday. Then I got up and walked back inside. As I was walking down one of the passages I accidently bumped into something. I looked up and saw Marcus standing there bare, the towel had fallen to the ground and he was there wearing nothing but an embarrassed smile...
