Lost love, Loved Life Chapter 7

Chapter 7
Aria paced up and down the halls. Her footsteps were nothing compared to the sound of happy people. Her sobs were heard by nobody. Aria felt so alone. She hadn’t a clue what was happening to Megan or if she was even alive. Just when she was about to take another step, somebody came through the doors with an entire squad of bodyguards surrounding her. Suddenly, the bodyguards froze in place. Aria knew they were looking at her, but didn’t understand why. Suddenly, a stretcher with a girl on it flew by them and Ashley Johnson stood in front of Aria frozen. The look on both faces was not of confusion, but recognition. Aria knew she had a twin that was given up at birth, and Ashley knew that she was adopted a day after her birth, but thought her twin had died. Ashley hugged Aria in a tight embrace. Aria smiled, no words were needed to explain their emotion.
“I thought you were dead,” Ashley cried. “You’re my twin, aren’t you?”
“Yeah,” sobbed Aria. “But I never died.”
“Well, that’s obvious. What’s your name?”
“I’m Aria Berkshire, and it’s quite obvious, you’re Ashley Johnson.”
“How long have you known about me being your twin?” Ashley asked, interested.
“I’ve known since you became famous. I knew I had one, I just didn’t know who it was, even though mom and dad would’ve told me, I was always too afraid to ask,” Aria continued. “But when I saw you on the TV, I knew it was you. It was just a weird thing.”
“Wait, why are you here?” Ashley asked. She’d just remembered they were in a hospital and Carly was in trouble.
“I have cancer,” Aria said, almost automatically. “But I’m in the surgery ward because my best friend, Megan’s heart was failing. She’s having a heart transplant right at this very moment. They don’t know if she’ll make it, though. Why are you here?”
“My best friend and fellow musician was nearly beaten to death by her boyfriend, they’re trying to fix her up, but we don’t know what’ll happen,” Ashley said, trying to contain her tears. “But I’m so thankful that we finally get to meet each other. I have to go. Aria Berkshire, I’ll have somebody look you up and we’ll do lunch.”
“Yeah, definitely. Keep in touch,” Aria said, letting one tear escape its prison of her deep blue eyes. “Bye.”
“Bye.”
