The child that was never wanted
|
Aria smiled as she deposited her black backpack to the side of her door. Her room was painted white, with a disgusting, pink carpet and multiple trophies and awards hanging around her room. Aria laid in her bed for a few seconds, just thinking about the day’s events. The smile that had melted off her face when her former friend, Jack had insulted her new softball team, telling her it wasn’t serious. Aria felt jagged, like part of her was somehow missing. She didn’t get it, she hadn’t felt like this until Jack had set this upon her. Jack and Aria weren’t even friends, just… well, nobody knew exactly what they were, it was somewhat like friends, but Aria was always careful around him, she didn’t want him mad at her. But Aria got mad a lot these days. Her aggressive, ugly side usually comes out during softball season. This softball season was worse than usual. Aria was very overprotective of her arms, legs and anything else she might need in softball. Except her head, yeah, Aria got hit in the head quite a few times in softball and out. But she didn’t mind, after all, softball was her life, she didn’t mind getting banged up a bit in the process.
Life was simple for Aria in her large house in an old, crappy neighborhood. Sure there were a lot of teens around but she was afraid to associate with any of them. I’ll just wait until school starts and see who’s cool, she thought. So Aria continued living her isolated life away from her friends in the next town over, where she’d lived every second of her life until now. She smiled, thinking of the days when Jack and herself had been more than friends, but less than boyfriend/girlfriend. Aria didn’t even understand their relationship completely, she believed that only Jack knew exactly what they were. Jack controlled their friendship. She let her beautiful blonde hair slide down from the hair tie. Her dark blue eyes shone in the sunlight as she sat upon her bed. The window was cracked, just a bit, enough for her to breathe in the fresh June air. She switched on her Gwen Stefani CD and started to sing along.
“I’m feelin’ yummy head to toe. You see me,” She sang, dancing all the while. “Ain’t got no patience so let’s go. You -”
CRASH!
She turned outside to see what had happened. Somebody had thrown a small child over the fence, it seemed, into the garbage bin. Aria raced down the stairs, her small, white and brown Chihuahua chased after her. Aria looked at the small girl with short brown hair and puppy dog brown eyes crying. Aria hugged her into a tight embrace, realizing that she didn’t even know this girl. She’d heard the car speed off, nobody wanted this girl. Aria smiled at the small child.
“What’s your name?” Aria asked, softly.
“Carwy Madson Wodgers.” she cried.
“How old are you, Carly?” Aria was now concerned. She was only 14 and her parents definitely wouldn’t keep her, but her parents were out on vacation for 2 more months and Aria had the house to herself for just that long, since it was summer.
“I’m four, but I’ll be five in two days!” the little girl sounded upset, yet excited at the same time.
“Well Carly, I’m Aria and I guess I’m going to be your new mommy. At least for a couple of months.” Aria didn’t want to give this child up already, although she hardly knew anything about her, but there was this unbelievable love somebody could only have for a daughter.

This is a little short. The first half was about her relationship, the second half about the girl. It made it seem like two different stories. Are you going to have another part to tie the two together? Also, your line that starts "she was only 14" was a little confusing, making it seem like the girl she found was that age at first. But I'd like to see how this plays out. :) |
