Lost love, loved life chapter 2

Creative Created on 2-25-07 Views(193) Story Rating G

Aria came home that day feeling beat, but her day was only just getting started. She walked in the door, knowing she was home alone, but still, she yelled a great "I'm Home!" Into the middle of nothing. She didn't like being home alone, but she knew it wasn't her fault her parents weren't home. Aria grabbed her medication bag, her backpack with homework, and a few bucks. She left just as fast as she came. She got onboard the shuttle bus up to Children's Hospital, only 5 minutes away by bus,  but it seemed like 5 hours. It took her every ounce of strength she had to get off the bus and entered through the doors. She just had to keep thinking, 'one foot in front of the other, little by little gets a whole lot better.' She loved thinking of inspiring lyrics, and the king of these was her favorite artist, George Strait.
' Sun shines clouds rain train whistles blow and guitars play preachers preach, farmers plow, wishes go up and the world goes round and I love you, it just comes natural...' Sang her phone. Quite obviously, it was Mike. Aria was happy to have her boyfriend calling her at such a perfect time, when she felt so weak.
"Hello?" said Aria, trying to sound oblivious to the fact that it was Mike.
"Hey baby," Mike said, his voice deep and sexy. "I just wanted to see what you were up to, you're not at band practice, what happened?"
"Shit, I'm sorry!" Cried Aria, she had completely forgotten. "I'm really busy, my umm... my best friend has a basketball game tonight, the last one she'll ever play. I had to go babe, I'm sorry."
"It's fine, Ar," Mike said firmly. "I know you've got obligations. A'ight, I've gotta go, I guess Lash can take your place, he won't be as good, but we're just gonna warm up. Don't worry, we won't make any decisions without you."
"Thanks Mike," Aria was relieved. "I love you."
"I love you too," Mike said. "Bye."
    "Bye." Aria whispered.
Aria continued the next ten feet to the elevators. She took the balloon elevators up to the Ob/Gyn floor, which happened to be the fifth. She walked out and took a right to the sign in area. She talked to the nurse at the counter briefly and walked to the waiting area. She pulled out her iPod and began to scroll down looking for a song to listen to. She liked Sara Beth by Rascal Flatts the most. She started the song and began to think. She realized that in this hospital, you'll do more waiting than anything and almost started laughing out loud.
"Aria Berkshire?" The nurse named Dahlia called out.
"Hey," Aria said, happy to see that she'd finally stop waiting, but upset that she had to get her portacath accessed. "I used the Emla cream today, so hopefully it won't hurt as bad as last time."
"That's good, Aria," Dahlia said. "Let's get your port accessed now."
In one swing, Dahlia pierced through Aria's chest with the needle, into her portacath. Aria winced. She'd had her port accessed a million times, but she still wasn't used to it. She climbed down from the table and went into a room made specially for drawing blood. She sat down in the chair and Dahlia took the blood from a tube connected to her Portacath. She told Aria her room number and Aria was assisted by a hospital visitor that she always coordinated with. Aria and Megan walked down as they both finished at the same time. Megan smiled as they checked where their rooms would be, they found that Dahlia had talked to the lady at the front office and Megan would be in the same room as Aria. Megan was Aria's absolute best friend in the world. But not even Megan knew Aria's deepest darkest secret. Of course she knew Aria had cancer, but nobody could tell from a lack of anything what her secret was. Even if they had known who Ashley Johnson was, and most of them did…

LokiSeto Ok now it just got rushed at the end there. I felt confused because I didn't know the floor's name and I didn't feel like everything was together. I mean the ending sorta jumped from place to place. Each time with someone new and yeah. Just really confusing. Add abit more there to make it less conusing.
