Chapter 14
Angel walked into the kitchen her feet leading the way from the living room, where Ann still laid asleep:
Opening my eyes; I passed though pushing one of the kitchen chairs out of the way of my bedroom door, which still held Jimmy. Yes I locked him in, one because I still don’t trust him, and Two he was drunk. Over the years Ive known not to trust drunk men. Moving the chair out of the way, I walked in to see him stretched out on my bed naked.
" God I have to change my shits." I whispered studying the room some more; everything that was setting on my dresser was know on the floor either broken or it was luckily out of the way. It has never been so messy before; it was like a hurricane hit head on.
Sighing I walked over to Jimmy:
" Get the hell up!" I screamed kicking him in the side.
" Hmmm" he growled rolling over; his face needed a good shave. His eyes where confused with my actions.
" I said get the hell up!" I hissed this time, letting him know I wasn’t happy with this.
" What’s wrong baby" he wined rubbing his eyes with the back of his dirty hands.
" You that’s what’s wrong; I would think an ass like you could hold your liquor, I was hoping over the years that was how you deal life with out me there. But no! Im the only stupid one that did that." Turning way from him; marching my way to the dresser…
" Angel what bort this up?" he yawned wrapping the blankets around him.
" Last night, I had to lock you in here just so you wouldn’t do anything stupid; Im not going to take care of you." Gripping my change of close I just picked out; before turning to look at him.
" Angel are you sure you’re not drunk" his words seamed so funny to me.
" No im not drunk, unlike you I can hold my liquor. And by know its out of my system anyway." Looking at him like he was a moron.
" Know if you don’t mind; im sure Ann is up, and since its noon I just might take Ann out to the park or something" hurrying out of the room.
Closing the bedroom door behind me.
Hurrying in to the laundry room just to change:
My heart was lighter; it was a good thing I got that off my chest. He just needs to know im not the same woman he killed, and im not taking his shit any longer. Last night how he let Drake in to my house! Oh he should just be happy that was all I did. But when he took half of my Rum… that pushed me feather. I hardly remember what happened when my body hit the kitchen floor; but when I came to, everything clicked.
Slipping on a sweater along with socks:
" Ann are you up?"
" Yea, Mmm are you and daddy fighting again?"
" We are just not meeting eye to eye about something; But on the other hand would you like to go have fun?" only to see her look at me like I was crazy.
" It’s the middle of the day?"
" I know that… just go get dressed; well have a picnic," I called watching her run out of the room.
Thinking fast I packed a basket full; luckily I am a vampyre or I wouldn’t have everything done before she ran back in to the room; dressed up in a blue shirt and blue jeans, she had her feather scarf around her neck followed by her princes crown. "So I see Im not dressed right," looking down at myself, to hear her laugh.
" No you’re fine, you’re just missing one thing," Watching her run back in to her bedroom. I turned back to the basket " Blanket?" I whispered only to hear Ann’s footsteps behind me. Looking back around, to see she had another feather scarf in her hands.
" Oh, that’s what im missing" smiling at her.
" You don’t have to wear it" she laughed.
" Oh well I don’t want to look under dressed" wrapping it around my neck.
" Is Jimmy going?" she asked her eyes looking to my bedroom.
" Dear he cant go out in the day," heading for the laundry room sadly it was across from my bedroom.
" Where are you going?" Jimmy’s voice sounded from the bedroom.
" Ann and I are going on a picnic, we’ll be back some time later." Picking the perfect blanket.
" Should I be worried if you don’t come back?" his words made me want to laugh.
" What do you have to worry about" looking in on him still setting on my bed; but at lest he had boxers on.
" What has gotten in to you?" he whispered. Sighing I looked away; knowing that Ann was ready to go.
******
Once we arrived at the park Ann jumped out of the passenger side; running right to the swings. Laughing to myself; my hands gripped the basket and the blanket before closing the side door. My eyes wondered around, blinking twice I couldn’t help but smile a little. It almost seams like im human again; I thought.
This park had so many good memories; Penny took her first step here, and we always had her birthday parties under the largest oat tree. " If only I new when Ann’s birthday was?" I whispered.
***
" The tree is still here" I whispered smirking to myself, Standing in the middle of the park like it was waiting for my return. Like my daughter I grow up with that old oat tree, but back then it wasn’t so large, it was only the right size to climb.
My mind flashed back to the day my own mother took me here; I was at lest 7 or 8 at the time:
" Angel get down from there this minute" my mother cried her face red with anger.
" I just want to see the whole park mommy." I answered my small arms wrapped around one of the branches.
" I mean it Angel Hallows! Get your butt down here or ill start counting" she screamed tapping her foot.
" Fine," I called back getting a fast look at the West Side of the park before climbing down. Once my foot touched ground that’s when my mother really got pissed.
" Angel Diana Hallows, what the hell was you thinking… Just wait till I tell your father; that your climbing trees again. I thought we broke you from that years ago," her face was still red. Her right hand gripped mine, her strength making my arm smart.
" Mommy you’re hurting me" tears flowing down my cheeks freely.
" Well it severs you right for running off like that… Just think what your father will do, you should know by now lades down act like monkeys!" She didn’t look at me when she said that. I know she didn’t like being rich, I could under stand that I didn’t like it either. Even though I was young; I hated violin/ piano along with dance class.
****
Shaking my head alittle I couldn’t believe how good I remember my human memories.
" Ann!" Looking around only to see her going up and down the slide.
" Yea" she called.
" Nothing I just wanted to know where you was" smiling alittle before setting up.

*****
My mind went back in to that same memory:
My mother pulled me in to the car.
" Could you not tell father!" my eyes looking at her across from me.
" Yes dear, I have to." She whispered her face turning away from me. Sighing I looked down at my sore fingers; " Mom should my fingers be bruised?" studying my fingers before showing them her way.
" Yes dear, at lest that’s what your father say’s. Remember his quota " you never work hard enough unless you have bruise to show for it!" Her eyes looked to me then back to my hands.
" But, Im already good at piano, you said ive been good at it since I was one." I pointed out only to see her frown.
" I know baby I know." She had dark cycles under her eyes; along with them not sparkling like they used to. Closing my eyes only to feel a hand on my shoulder….
***
Taking back by it: only to see Ann staring at me worried.
" Angel are you ok?" she asked her little hands pressing my cheeks together.
" Yes, just to many hunting memories." Quickly pulling her in to my lap.
" What kind of memories?" her green eyes looked up at me.
" Just my childhood," wrapping my arms titer around her.
" Are they really that bad?" her eyes sadden alittle.
" Some may say they would wont my life, the thing is I never did" resting my head on top of her.
" If it’s anything different then what you’re giving me I wouldn’t want it either." She whispered turning to look at me. Smiling I hugged her, " It wasn’t all bad. If you get passed the bossy father and the fearful mother." I cracked only to feel her hands setting on my temple lobs.
" What are you doing?" I asked only to hear her laugh alittle.
" Im trying to see what you see" her words puzzled me.
" You don’t want to see that, its best if it just stay in the past" taking her little hands in to mine, " That and you might not like what you see." Kissing her forehead.
" Ok, so tell me how you met daddy?" a large smile on her face.
" That’s… well" I pressing my lips together, running though something I didn’t want to think about. " Well Jimmy and I was 16 or so when we first met it was planed. You see are parents set us up when we were only 10 but since nether of them thought we should met tell are so called wedding; they told me it was because they wanted me to be married to the son of a higher company. I never really loved Jimmy at first but after having Penny; I decided to let my guard down, I had this stupid Idea that since he gave me such a pretty daughter that I should repay him with" I stopped not wanting to even think of it.
" You repaid him with love" Ann whispered. I couldn’t do anything but nod.
" So you never loved him because you wanted to?" she asked her little voice shocked.
" I wanted what every girl wants; I wanted a lovely home that smelt like baked goods along with a loving husband, followed with little patters of feet yelling and helping me bake. Luckily I got one thing out of my dream." Snapping out of it when cold air whipped my hardI looked around only to see that it was 7 already and yet the food was still in the basket.
" So much for lunch hmm" my eyes looking at the shadows from the trees.
" I didn’t need to eat mom, I just wanted to play" she laughed jumping out of my arms.
" Well at lest you did play for 4 hours" smirking alittle at how bright eyed she was.
" Can you join me?" she asked holding her hand out.
" Dear im to big for the playground stuff," taking her hand anyway.
" Come on I have something to show you that I know you can fit on" she laughed pulling me up off the ground.
" And what may that be" I answered following her.
" This spinney thing" she pointed out her right figure showing where it was.
" Im not big with spinney things" I laughed only to feel her pull on my arm.
" Come on it will be fun you can push and then jump back on once you picked up enough speed." Wanting to laugh at how she explained it in a way anyone could.
" Fine but only for alittle bit" helping her up on the spinney thing. " Hold on to the bars" I ordered not wanting her hurt.
" Don’t worry, I love this ride" she laughed following what I told her.
Nodding, I started walking slowly, my hands gripping the bars. " Faster" she ordered. So I did so but not to fast. I didn’t want a dizzy girl on my hands; jumping on once I had it just right for her, it was going fast enough to humans anyway.
Ann’s little body and arms held on to the bars for dear life. " Is this to fast?" pulling her to me.
" No I love it" she laughed her arms wrapping around me.
*****
Six or seven times later:
" Are you dizzy yet?" I asked her only to see her shake her head no. Smiling at the way each time we started to slide her eyes went wide. I couldn’t help but laugh; we started to slow down relived alittle I laid down looking up at the sky only to see nothing but star’s.
" Ann we need to pack up and head home" turning my head to look at her. " But I don’t want to yet" she wined. " If we don’t Jimmy will come looking for us and I don’t want him to bug me today" standing up with Ann in my arms.
Heading back to the oat tree only to see some woman standing their lining agents it, like she was waiting on someone.
" Who is that?" Ann whispered in to my ear. Studying the woman as we headed her way; noticing that she heard her.
" Shhh," wrapping my arms titer around her, the scent of death hit my nose.
" Angel right" she asked her lips not moving.
" Don’t know who is asking" I hissed studying her.
" Kat Widen from the Moonlight clan" she hissed her eyes moving over Ann and myself.
" And why would you be looking for me then?" the feeling of Ann moving alittle made me glance at her. Fear was written all over her face her eyes looking rapidly around us.
" You took something from are clan" a males voice sounded behind me.
" I haven’t took anything from you" I hissed not under standing any of this.
" I believe you have, and you’re holding it" the man laughed. Then it hit me they were after my baby. Anger rose from my gut, my fangs bit in to my lip.
" She is not yours" I hissed baring my fangs at them.
" Hand her over… Angel" Drake’s voice sounded; hatred coursed though my veins, my eyes searched for him. Before I could spot he popped beside Kat his eyes red.
" You can’t have her?" I screamed only to hear a gun shot behind me. My eyes widened at the sound of Kat screaming, before my eyes her skin turned black which was followed by her bones, organs and skin turned to dust. Drake hissed loudly his eyes glaring behind Ann and me.
" Don’t listen to them Baby" Jimmy’s hissed. My arms held Ann closer to me, more gun shots sounded, Drake screamed his hand over his chest. " Ann close your eyes," bending closer to the ground covering her with my arms and body.
" What about daddy" she whispered tears in her eyes.
