The Last Case Chapter 11

Other Created on 2-7-08 Views(25) Story Rating G

He knew he had fallen asleep in the office, but during that time, another was murdered by the same gruesome fashion, with most of the unfortunate victim’s body gone. No one could decipher how these could have gone, even with the biggest clue always left behind, the saliva. No other animal could hunt with such precise. Then, while pondering over that, Monstru hit something. Of course! The answer was blatant and in front of him the whole time. There was a cannibal in the city. He left his office to look for Hunter. Then, another slipped in, without his secretary knowing.
Actually, it was possible, but never did occur in this city of overweight people. More were getting fit, but only a few like raw meat. Blood was splattered all over jack’s mouth, and the meat looked so enticing. I don’t know, but perhaps my brother got some fresh meat from the market.” Hunter offered the dozing man a bite. He looked up. The mask he had been wearing fell off. The other man gasped.  Ian’s face was a woman’s, and she was holding a notepad with a pen. That piece of plastic was hiding Ingrid Fraser, the local man-like reporter. “So, tell me about the case.” “Neither he nor I will tell you anything, woman. GET OUT!” What about my… assistant?” Janet Parker came from behind the curtains. “Hey there big boy…” She was staring down at his area again. He snarled, then lunged at her, his mouth set to a biting position, but she thought that was an act. Jack knew, and pulled Ian away from the woman in amethyst.
A variety of sounds escaped  in Monstru’s snarl he let out. A cat’s screech, a lion’s roar, a crocodile’s gruff noise, a wolf’s howl, the hiss of a snake and the call of a dolphin, even an unknown sound which is just a small trace in the blend of screaming roar. The women were alarmed, but regained their calm composure. “GET OUT OF MY OFFICE!” Neither moved. Then, Parker moved in for the kill. She did the same as the last encounter, only unbuttoning his and her shirts this time. Then, spurred by her success, she led his hand to her…
The next thing she knew, she was at the hospital. Her hand had been severed, bitten off. Her legs were at another end, flesh missing in a few places, and bite marks were on her face. Monstru was sitting at a corner, being questioned. Then, the conference was over, and he left the room with his mouth still… bloody?! He had done that? Now, she really feared him. No one had been immune to  her charms, except them. She cringed, her bandaged body aching. She was going to be scarred for life.
“Ian, that was incredible! I couldn’t hold you anymore, I’m sorry…” “That’s alright. People do rash things when rage consumes them.” He looked up from his cup of tea.  The steam had fogged his shades again. “She deserved it. That bitch shouldn’t be messing with a loner.” He stirred his strong beverage. It shocked him a little awake.

Patrick was munching on his subway sandwich. Perhaps he should treat his parents out for dinner tonight… how did steak sound? Monstru came back, passing his obese brother, but taking notice of nothing. Slamming the door behind, the reporter who dared to go close was hit in the face by the wooden rectangle. The juicy information about the case refused to be revealed. Ian wanted to just lie down in bed, but his job at the station prevented him from that. Patrick wanted to too. An inspector had to be at the place every day, whether he liked it or not.
He was working with the homicide people. It was an opportunity, wasn’t it? No, it wasn’t like that. Inspector Teo was working under Monstru. He was going to watch the cells that night? No way José will that happen. If he had a choice. No one could get away from their posts unless he accepted the excuse. His reunion dinner was the next night, so he had to do it this night. Perhaps he should rebel…But if they do not accept it? Screw them. He couldn’t because of the much needed pay check.

Dinner time was around the corner, and Ian let his brother go off for dinner with their family. He wasn’t really needed most of the time. Jun An had gone to do his duty with the security cameras’ operator. He only made sure the cameras were on. Everyone who was working in the station knew that. The press had stopped asking about the case, rather,  they started asking Monstru why he had flared and attacked Parker. It was obvious, but they needed the truth before they could make it more juicy for the readers to take in. He always declined the offer to patronise them and get a new complaint for the force.
The mutilated woman lain there helplessly as a familiar person came into the room. But she was a blue mist… Caroline? Then black and brown wings of a common quail unfolded behind her. “NOOOOO!” Her lips parted to reveal pale green all over, the very envy she had been feeding on… Oh god… Oh God… She was frantic. This lady killer was stalking her? For what? Trying to steal her man? “No. I am here to see if my love is here…” Great, she thought. She’s looking for that son of a bitch. “He is not! He had done much more than Paul, or should I say, Heart Devourer…” The jealousy was drained, and fear replaced it. “Thank you for that… I’ll find my man after this…”
