SPIDER WEB: unmarked graves
|
A warm autumn breeze blew Serena's hair like a golden ray of sunshine. Her honey blonde hair and warm toned skin blended beautifully with the green grass and sprinkles of crimson and bronze leaves that showered from the trees. A strange sensation came upon her. A gray stone grave sat strangely on the other side. It drew her in like fire to air, mother to daughter, romance to passion. The leaves crumbled beneath Serena's feet; it was the only sound in a realm of silence, a cold subtle silence. "626" The only thing written on the grave, no name, no year, just a number. How could this be? She thought to herself. There where no other graves so why this number at random. The wind blew her hair into her eyes. She moved it briskly and it revealed everything. Thousands of graves surrounded her. Each with just a number. Lives had been erased. Who where these people? Why are they here? Why am I here? These questions swarmed Serena's thought until the blood pounding in her head aquired all of her attention.
A little boy sat beside grave 492. Black hair covered his eyes. He wore a school boy's uniform with a small white daisy in his hands. Serena approached the child.
"Who are you?"
"No body."
"What's your name?"
"I have no name."
"Where's your mom?"
"Dead."
"Who are you?"
"I told you I am nobody!" He screamed, looking at her with a dark stare. His eyes where gone. The sockets where empty, except for spider webs shining in the light of the sun. "626" An ominous whisper rang in the trees.
"AHHUUUH" Serene gasped as she shot up from her dream. Midnight. The aluminating 12:00 was all she saw in the dark room. The radio played softly in the back ground. "It was just a dream."
