  When I looked over to see who had knocked on my door I was surprised to see Nick standing in my doorway with a single white rose in his hand. He was grinning at me, and I grinned back at him. He walked over to me. Then to my utter surprise he leaned down, and kissed my forehead.

  "How are you feeling?" He asked me.

  "I'm doing fine, I'm going to be able to leave either tonight, or tomorrow," I told him while he was putting the rose in some water. His grin got even bigger, If that was even possible, I thought.

  "That's fantastic, Serenity," He said while bending down to give me a hug. While we were in the middle of our hug we heard someone clear their throat. We seperated, and looked over at the door. Standing in my doorway with a very unhappy look on his face was my father.

   "What's going on in here," My dad asked with a deep frown on his face.

   "Nothing Dad, this is just one of my friends from school," I explained to him.

   "Well it's nice to meet you...?" My dad said trailing off.

   "Nick, Nicholas Ramsey sir," Nick introduced himself while shaking my fathers hand.

   "It's nice to meet you Nick, I'm Alex, Serenity father," My dad said to Nick while still shaking Nicks hand.

   "Um...dad?" I said.

   "Yeah Ren?" My dad asked using that damn nickname. I saw Nick raise one of his eyebrows at me when my dad called me Ren.

   "You can let go of Nicks hand," I told him. My dad let go of Nicks hand, and looked slightly embaressed.

   "Well I have to go my mom is waiting for me outside," Nick said after a long awkward silence. He gave one more hug then left the room. After Nick left my dad turned to me with a weird look in his eye like he was uncomfortable.

   "Dad are you okay?" I asked.

   "No I'm fine Ren, it's just.....is that Nick kid your boyfriend?" He asked so out of the blue. I was so startled by his bluntness that I actually had to think before I answered.

   "No dad he is not my boyfriend, he is just a friend," I said disappointed.

   "Well he seems like an alright kid," My dad said. I nodded in agreement with what he said. My dad stared at me for a long moment then came, and sat down by me. He grabbed my hand, and just sat there staring at me.

   "You know you really scared me Ren," He told me. I gasped when I saw tears in the corner of my fathers eyes.

   " You don't know how scared I was when they called me at work. I was so scared I was going to lose you baby girl," He said. I was shocked my dad hadn't called me baby girl since I was 6.

    "I'm sorry dad I didn't mean to scare you I was just being stupid, I'm so sorry," I said crying with him. My dad let go of my hands, and gave me a hug. It wasn't like the hugs he would usually give me. It was like the hugs he gave me when I was little. While my dad, and me were still hugging I heard a noise at my doorway.

    "Well isn't this just precious," Came a voice from my doorway, and it was the last voice I wanted to hear at that moment.
