A Recipe For Pain -5-
|
I swear I could hear crickets chirping in China, it was that quiet. Ashley looked stunned for a moment, then angry, then she burst into tears and ran away crying. I was sure my jaw was hitting the floor in amazment. And did wonders never cease? Dante bent down and started picking up my books and scattered papers. I was silent. The rest of the cafeteria was slowly resuming their chatter. I stayed silent, and so did Dante.Atl east, I was silent for about two seconds.
"You know you're going to be an outcast now, right?" I asked, managing to pick my jaw up off the floor. I'm suprised it wasn't dislocated. He shrugged.
"Oh well. I don't exactly want to hang out with jerks anyway."
"How do you feel about being thrown in dumpsters?" I asked, Fruedly. He grinned.
"They have to catch me first, And I can run hella fast."
"Lucky," I murmured and accepted my things from Dante.
"Practice, practice, practice." He said smiling, and stood and walked away. At least he hadn't escorted me. I was screwed as it was. Thank you, Dante, for making my target bigger. I might as well get a neon sign advertising me as dumpster bait. I just couldn't wait for tomorrow. Not.
