Don't Come Back -Intro-

I'd been gone for four years. I wonder how much has changed. I wonder how much she's changed. I'd left for various reasons, and in a way, she had been one of them. But now, I was so much different from the seventeen year old I'd been when I'd left. I hoped she wasn't much different from the seventeen year old she'd been.

I stepped out of the airport doors into the dusky twilight. One of my old friends was supposed to be picking me up, and I was anxious for any news about the girl I'd left behind. I was always worried about her. After about a year, she'd stopped all contact with me. There hadn't been much to begin with. I felt guilty,I don't know why she didn't want to communicate, but her last message had hurt. She had told me to never come back. I'd asked why, but she never responded, never logged on after that message. I tried calling, but she wasn't home any of the times I'd called. And no, despite her telling me not to, I was back.
