Death's Shadow (1)

Romance Created on 1-5-08 Views(85) Story Rating G

Now, before you start reading this story, think about something for a little bit. Usually a lot of people think death is a force, roaming in the shadows. But what if...death were an actual person? Wouldn't that be a shock? Well in stories, things don't always have to be true. So that's why in this story, I chose death to be one of the main characters. AND NO!!! I'M NOT EMO, I'M NOT GOTHIC! I JUST WANTED TO MAKE A STORY DIFFERENT FROM MY OTHERS. BUT I DID WRITE A STORY ABOUT AN EMO, SO YEAH...

It was a dark, misty night in Philadelphia.

Everything was quiet, but yet bizarre.

18 year old, April looked out of her window.

Wanting to escape from her horrible life, she cried quietly.

So no one could hear her.

No one ever heard her.

It was like she was never there.

The clouds moved swiftly over the moon.

Once leaving it covered in gray, then letting its silver light shine down.

The light reflected on her brown hair, making it more beautiful than usual.

A tear slid down her face and onto the ground.

She got up slowly and walked to her bed.

Once she got on, it felt good to her.

Probably at the fact she had been sitting on the floor for most of the night.

She closed her eyes, and slowly drifted to sleep.

BEEP BEEP BEEP...BEEP BEEP BEEP

The alarm clock on her nightstand woke her up.

She was startled by the disturbing noise.

She slammed her hand down on it causing a loud THUD!

Lifting her head up slowly, she noticed a figure at her window.

The very bed she slept in, was just inches below the window.

She gasped loudly with fear.

But then, the figure had disappeared.

Jumping off the bed, she ran into the living room where she had heard the TV, the morning news had been on.

Looking around, she noticed only her mother and younger sister were watching TV.

But where was her father?

"Ma, where's Dad?" she asked in confusion.

"He went out to get some groceries," said her mother.

April automatically knew that something bad was going to happen.

But then again...

Who cared about what April thought?

Or wanted, or liked, or even NEEDED.

She shook her head, and went into her room.

Putting on some day time clothes, she noticed the figure again.

This time, it stood in her window.

Staring at her, like she was supposed to run up to it.

But the figure wasn't an "it".

The figure was a person.

April didn't scream, or faint, or run away because she was fearless.

She walked up to it slowly, and looked closer.

The person was wearing black pants, a black shirt, and had eyes that penetrated through April.

Then April realized, it was a boy.

About a couple of years older than her.

Her face was frozen, she didn't even blink.

"Who....are you?" she asked.

The person didn't answer, but disappeared... once again.

Her heart was started to beat uncontrollably.

Maybe it was about to come out of her chest.

Turning around quickly to put on some sneakers, she noticed the same person was standing right in her door way...
