Just My Luck (1)

I layed down on my bed watching my mother move through the hallway.

The light was on and it hurt my eyes.

I didn't want to get up so I acted like I was sleeping.

"Get up, you're going to be late for school." she said turning on my light.

I groaned.

"I'm not playing with you Susie Antoinette Jacobs." I jumped up.

When she called me by my full name, I knew she was serious.

The house looked so dark and sad.

After I had gotten ready I got on the school bus.

I sat in the very back because I was kind of new.

Turning my head to the window, I could hear people saying my name and laughing.

They were talking about me.

But I didn't care.

People were going to talk and I couldn't stop it.

"Hey, leave her alone!" I heard someone shout.

Who could that have been?

I look over confused.

It was Michael.

The boy I had a crush on.

He pushed his way through the crowd and say by me.

"Thanks for sticking up for me over there?" I said.

"It was no problem. You're Susie." he said.

I rolled my eyes laughing.

"Yeah pretty much. Unless you wanna' change my name."

"Nah. I'll stick with Susie."

He was so popular.

I wondered if being caught with me would ruin his rep.

When we got to school he told me he had to go to class.

I smiled and he walked away.

I felt a big bump ahead of me.

I wasn't looking.

Too busy looking at Michael, I noticed I had bumped into Miracle.

A bully.

"You better watch where you're going Susie."

I wasn't scared of her.

I never would be.

"I don't have to watch anything. But I know your teeth better watch some toothpaste going across 'em."

I couldn't believe I said that.

"What did you say?" she asked clenching her teeth.

I looked around and say people looking.

It made me feel good.

People were actually paying attention to me.

I was going to say something else, but the school bells rang.

I went to my class while shaking my head.

The teacher was talking about something.

I couldn't tell what though.

Before I knew it, that class was over.

"Susie, I need to see you." said Mr.Carlo from his desk.

His eyes met mine.

I walked slowly up to him.

"Y- Yes?" I swallowed.

I was scared.

"Oh, you're not in trouble. Just take a seat right here." he patted to a chair beside him.

He whispered in my ear as other students came in.

"I've noticed Miracle, I just wanted to say that if she bother's you again then tell the principal. I've alerted him."

When he whispered to me, it seemed like he was flirting with me.

The other students laughed and whistled.

I rushed out, and no one was in the hall.

Except me and Miracle...
