ZOEY 4

I woke up to the sound of blaring alarms, as I was rolled out of the ambulance. Perimedics shouted things to docters, and I heard my name, but I couldnt understand what was going on. I was so lost, I was so scared. I passed out again as I was rolled into a room.
"Her parents were just here," whispered a low voice. I stirred, and fluttered my eyes weakly.
"Poor things, must be worried out of their minds. If my child was ever..." the old womans voice trailed off. I raised my eyelids as much as I could. An old woman was adjusting my blankets, and a young nurse stood at my bedside, holding a folder.
"Well hello!" greeted the old woman happily. "Your awake!"
"What....what time is it?" I asked feebly.
"It's about two oclock dear." the old woman answered. That didnt seem right.
"What day." i asked.
"I believe its wednesday the fourteenth."
I had been asleep that long. Two days. The old woman finished the blankets and said her gooddbyes. I whatched as her pink scrubs disappeared beyond the door.
"How are you feeling?" asked the nurse.
"Horrible," I figured I should respond truthfully. I really did feel like crap, and it hurt everwhere. Not a teeth clinching hurt, but a excessive soar feeling. It was as if I had just run a marathon and did fifty pushups. The nurse laughed, and told me I was doing fine. "Whats wrong with me," i asked, my sences were becoming more alert. "Whats broken."
"Well," she sighed. "You have three broken ribs. One peirced your lung, but the doctors took care of that. Your right femer(sp?) was snapped in half, but amazingly it was a clean break. So you wont have alot of trouble with that. You had a minor concussion, but the doctors fixed that without shaving any hair, so thats a good thing," she smiled. "Your left ring finger, and middle finger are broken." Zoey peered at her bandaged hand. She had broken her fingers before. "Your right arm is slighlty fractured." The nurse paused then. I looked up at her, waiting for her to go on.
"What?" I asked, as the nurse stared at me.
"You were extremly lucky! Usually we say this to everyone...but, you were hit buy a truck at 65 miles an hour, and nothing is shattered, there is no serious internal bleeding, and you only suffered a minor concussion....It's amazing!"
