***"We cant get away in time," Victor said, as he stumbled threw the trees, clutching the girls hand."Hes right!" cried the woman.  Just then there was a loud boom from behind them.  Everyone turned in shock. "I put sheilds on the bus, that way they waist time thinking we are inside," whispered Cedric, "so everyone move quick, and be as silent as possible."***

After about fifteen minutes, the girl was starting to slow down, Victor was constantly needing to pull her along.  The blast's from behind them were still going off, the trio obviously had not gotten into the bus yet.

"Cedric" called Victor quielty, "we need to stop."

"Ha," laughed Cedric, "I dont think you'll have that pleasure."

"She is tired," Victor responded, stoping. The chubby woman slowed down, and haulted next to him, panting heavily. Patrick and Cedric both truned.  Cedric sighed, shifting the mans weight in his tired arms.

"This is not the time for resting." grumbled Cedric.  No one answered.

"He's right," Patrick sighed, "we need to move."

"You cant expect us to keep on moving like this!" protested the woman, "do we look like hikers!" she complained, raising her voice.

"Quiet," whispered Cedric.

"No!" the woman hissed. "we are injured, and tired, and...and...I dont  even know how you two are going on! Your carrying a body" she growled, pointing at Cedric, "and you, your leg is practically broken, and I-"

"Alright," interupted Cedric, "just shut that trap of yours," he growled setting the man on the ground, then leaning against a tree. The woman looked offended, but she didnt protest. Victor fell to his knees, the girl slowly sat down next to him, pulling her hand away, to pull back her long hair. She used the elastic band that had been on her wrist to tie her hair back.

"Are you alright?" Victor asked. The girl silently nodded. Victor hadnt heard the girls voice since leaving the bus. He felt extremly sadened with her around. He couldnt get the sight of her dead mother out of his brain. The poor girl, he could only imagine what she felt.  The woods became silent, the bangs and booms no longer sounding. Cedric stood straight, his body tense. He stood still for a second, as Patrick rose to his feet.

"Lets move," Cedric whispered.  He swiftly picked the man off the ground.

"Shit," Patrick whispered, he rushed over to Victor.  He knelt down on one knee, in order to be eye level with the now-standing girl. "Hello," he said kindly, "my names Pat, I need to carry you alright, becuase we need to move fast, and your to little to run that fast, okay." he finished quickley. The girl gave a small nod. "Alright," said Pat, "here we go." He lifted the girl up, holding her diagonally. "grab my neck....good job, now keep your legs straight, alright." The girl nodded.  Patrick took off, Cedric right behind him. The Chubby lady followed with a grown.  Victor stood there alone, whatching them dash off, wondering how Patrick could force himself to run on his leg.  Then, taking one last look behind him, he fled.

Victor was soon next to Patrick, the Chubby woman was a few feet behind everyone, but she managed to stay with the group. Victor could see the pain on Pat's face, as he raced forward. He would offer to carry the girl, but he knew he wouldnt move as fast.  Surprisingly Cerdic managed to move just as quick, with a adult man in his arms. The mans arms and legs flopped about like a dolls. His glasses were almost about to fly off his head when Patrick stopped without warning.

"I cant," he panted, tears in his voice. He set the girl down, then dropped to the dark ground. "I cant" he painted, "my leg...I just cant." Everyone else had stopped, panting loudly. Victor could hear the distant crunching of branches. "Go..."he sighed. Cedric glanced at him, sweat running down his face. Then he looked back.

"What!" gasped Victor, after waiting for Cedric to protest, "we're not gonna leave him are we?" Cedric stared at him. "Cedric, we're not gonna leave him!" he said again, this time it wasnt a question.  Patrick was still gasping for air, his face towards the ground.

"Go Cedric, I can hold them off." Patrick panted quietly.  Cedric was still standing there, without responding, his face blank.  Victors chest was still heaving, his limbs tired. He shook his head at Cedric.

"No..." said Cedric simply, looking down at his partner.

"What do you expect us to do then Cedric? Go!" Patrick protested. The chubby woman, and Victor stood silent, whatching the two men. The girl was silent, with teary eyes.

"I'll heal you." Cedric answered.  Patrick laughed.

"No, absolutly not! You'll be too weak to move."

"You will be able to get to the portal.  I can hold them off. "

"How?" protested Patrick. "You'll die Cedric!" he said louldy."if you stay, you'll die." He said more quietly.

"Why," panted the woman, "why cant we all stay together?" she asked.

"She's right Cedric." Victor spoke, "I...I can do magic, cant I...and you two can! Cant we beat them?"

Cedric sighed. "If we dont get you back..." he trailed off. "Allright" he said after a moment, setting the man down. Victor could hear Dee and her friends getting closer. "We will fight."
