Victor part 9

***"Alright then, off we go." said Patrick quielty. Victor followed them out the house, looking back at his family  before he closed the door. he followed them down the walkway, and onto the sidewalk.  They continued walking down the street.  Victor followed them without saying a word.***

After about 10 mintues of trudging behind the two silent men Victor spoke.

"Where exactly are we going," he said quietly, as they traveled silently down the sidewalk.

"Colorado," answered Cedric without looking back.

"Colorado," Victor whispered, "I thought-"

"Listen, because Im going to explain this quick," Cedric stopped and turned around. "There are only three places on Earth, which can trasnfer us to our world. Lundine only has two places, and Yentrock has three. There is no other way to travel to other worlds, but from these places. On Earth, there is one such place in France, South Africa, and America. Colorado, is our closest bet." He turned back around and they all continued walking down the dark street. Victor looked up at the moths fluttering around the yellow street light across the street. He doesnt look like a fun guy to travel with he thought.

"Well, where are we going right now?"

"We're headed to the bus station," anwered Cedric.

"Flying would be quicker," commented Victor.

"And more exspensive," stated Cedric.  Patrick started laughing.

"Cedric is scared out of his mind about flying." he chuckled, peering over his shoulder at Victor.  Cedric gave Patrick a serious glare, which made him laugh more. "What?" he joked.

"Alright, we get it," whispered Cedric, "whatch your tongue boy, and be quiet."

They reached the bus station in another ten minutes. Before the crossed the empty street Cedric stopped and handed Victor a peice of paper. He looked down at it and saw numbers and letters printed out on the paper in blocky letters. The first line read Peterson, Victor, his name. But not my real name, he thought.  The next line was the date and the time.

"5:10am" he read aloud.

"Yup, that is in exactly 7 minutes," Patrick sighed, looking at his whatch.

"Well lets go," Cedric ordered. They all crossed the street and headed towards the station.

After rushing to make the departure, they settled in the front part of the bus.  Victor counted only eight others on the bus with them,  nine including the driver. There was a middle aged woman, sitting next to a sleeping girl, that looked to be about 7 years old. In the far back there was a large man forcing hand fulls of chips into his mouth. Cedric sat behind Patrick and Victor, claiming two seats as his own. An older man, and what looked to be his wife were dozed off a few seats back.  Infront of them sat a young man shaking his left leg, and gazing out the window. Two woman sat near the fat man, chatting loudly, and smacking on gum.

"Well, this shoudl be fun!" smiled Patrick, "by the way, nice to meet you Victor, call me Pat.  And I mean it, Patrick was my father, and boy...I hated that man-"

"Alright," grumbled Cedric from behind them, "lets not bore the boy with your life story"  Patrick acted as if Cedric hadent spoken, and stuck out his hand.  Victor shook it without saying a word.

"So," began Pat as the bus slowly pulled out of the station, "almost 16 eh? I remember my sixteenth birthday...it was just like every other day." he laughed.

"How old are you?" asked Victor in a quiet voice.

"Me, Im 25," he answered.

"Oh get off it," Cedric grumbled, "the boy is 18" Once again Patrick acted as if he had heard nothing.

"You know, I've never been here," Pat said, then he leaned in to whipser, "to this world I mean, its an odd place....i mean, we are riding this gigantic medal contraption...looks dangerous, if ya ask me! And i didnt really expect you to talk like us.  Thought maybe you would have an accent, like my mothers, or something."

"Does you mother come from here?" asked Victor.

"No she comes from Englarnd...or somthing like that."

"England," corrected Victor. "Does she sound like Dee?" he asked.

"She is Dee," Pat said looking away.

"Wait, your mom's Dee?" Victor asked loudly.

*Sorry for mispelling*
