Drama Created on 1-10-08 Views(137) Story Rating G

My foot connected with my dad’s head just as he was about to slit the man’s throat. His face was pretty cut up, but he wasn’t dead. Tough old man, he was.

Sprawled out on the grass, Brian was groaning, rubbing his head, and trying to get up from where I’d kicked him to. Yea right, like I was letting this ill minded Turd get up so he could finish off Mr. Tough Old Man? Uh-uh…not as long as I’m around.

I walked over to him, and without thinking twice kicked him in the ribs, and got rewarded with another painful groan. He was on his hands and knees, so I put my foot on the small of his back, and pushed down with as much force as I could muster. Was I going to kill him??? No. Although, I think I mighta been pissed enough to. But if I killed him, what would that be?? It would be the same thing that he had been doing for 4 weeks now. Murder. And me?? Yeah, not so much of a murderer. So I decided knocking him out would due. I kicked him in the head one last time before he went still. Afraid I had killed him, I checked for a pulse, and when I got one, I turned toward the old man.

He was hugging his former wife’s grave, and crying, probably making the cuts on his face burn. I strode forward, and grabbed his shoulders lightly. He snapped around and nearly took my head off with his fist.

“Hey” I said gently, holding up my hands to reassure him. “I’m not going to hurt you. I want to help.”

He just looked intently at me with one arm still around the headstone.

I pointed to Brian “That’s who was trying to hurt you. But you need to come with me now, to a hospital.” I looked directly into his light brown eyes, letting him now I was fully sincere. “You can come back after your better ok?” I once again grabbed one of his bony shoulders, and this time he didn’t try to strike me. I helped him off of the ground, grabbed his cane, and we started walking towards the gates.

“Is that your car out front?” I asked. Blood was running down his face now, and soaking the front of his shirt. I hated asking him questions, not knowing if it would hurt him to speak, but I didn’t want to like steal some ones car. Even if it would have been necessary in this situation.

“Yes, here are the keys.” He pulled the keys out of the pocket, and shoved them into my hands. His fingers were freezing cold, and getting whiter by the second.

Shit, I thought. We HAVE to get a move on. I sped up my gate a bit and after a couple more minutes we were entering his Gray Pinto. Ick, I thought. Could his car GET any uglier?? OK, Ayz, back to the condition here, nobody cares about what kind of car he has. I opened the passenger side door, and he shakily climbed into the ancient seat. I slammed the door and ran over to the drivers side. I may not have my license, but I am , I must admit, a GREAT driver.

So basically I just started driving like a total maniac trying to get this man to the hospital. It was like I was in NASCAR. Finally, 10 minutes later, we pulled up to the gigantic brick hospital. I walked over to the passenger side, grabbed the bloddy, skakey old man, and went as fast as I could into the building.

As we walked into the building, I must have gotten a horrified or appalled glance from every human being in the place. Some of them even looked at me like it was my fault. Yea, right. When I walked up to the secretary, and she glanced up, at once, she stood, her eyes widening and made a quick phone call, then led me to a room. The blood coating the old man’s shirt looked black in the dim light of the hospital room. The nurse left, and immediately after she walked out the door, a couple other doctors walked in. They rushed toward the old man, and started working on his face. Since I was in the way they told me to go out into the waiting room, and I gladly did so.

As I waited, I contemplated what I was going to tell them that had happened. “O yeah, you see, my dad is the serial killer of Jaylop County, and I was going to go with him tonight to kill someone, but I wasn’t really going to help, I was going to call the police without him knowing, but he was in the graveyard today, and he was trying to murder the old man and I ‘m not a heartless beast so I kicked my dad’s ass and saved the old man, Imma hero. What was I doing in the graveyard you say? Oh, I go there to think, its so very peaceful. You should try it sometime officer.” Uh, no. I don’t think the truth would glide over so well. First, they would wonder why I would let a murder go on the loose without informing the o so reliable police. Second, they would totally not believe how I happened to coincidentally be at the same place and time of another Serial Murder of Jaylop County. It’s bad enough I was there, but there has to be the extra emphasis of the place being a graveyard. Normal teenagers do not hang out at graveyards. Then, I would so totally get caught for driving without a license. I know, stupid to think of that now, but I couldn’t help it.

As I was thinking about my dreadful situation, I noticed a familiar blonde head in my periphial vision. I snapped my head over and discovered Nell talking to some doctor. Actually, not just SOME doctor, but my mothers doctor. SHIZ, I thought. He cannot see me here. He’ll ask “Why aren’t you in there with your mom? That is why you’re here isn’t it?” And I very well can’t tell the truth. And lying is NOT something I wanted to do. I mean, I don’t want to ruin my chances of him asking me to marry him. Or ask me out on a date, either would due.

So as quickly as I saw him, I shot up and out of that chair, and around the corner to hide. Hoping he didn’t notice me running out of the room like it was on fire, I peeked around the corner, and noticed he was gone. I tilted my head more fully around the wall, trying to get a better view of where he might be, but I couldn’t see him anywhere. I slowly tiptoed back into the room, and stood in the middle, glancing all around me. I was immensely relieved to see that he was nowhere in sight.

Then he came around the corner, and saw me standing the middle of the waiting room, looking like a deer caught in headlights.

I hoped he hadn’t noticed me hiding from him or anything. How would I explain that one?

“Hey” He said, walking up to me. “are you hiding from me??” He asked, his brows furrowed.

I laughed nervously. “No! HaHa..what are you TALKING about??” I said, trying to look surprised. Although, I don’t think it worked out to well, because he looked at me skeptically and said “Ayzolenn, I know you were hiding from me.”

SHIT!!!!
