Theadore's Man....My Dream Man

7 months later.

California. The sunshiny state. So vividly colorful, filled with people of all shapes and sizes. Different, oh so different from West Virginia. Over the past 5 months, things have been hard. My family is falling apart due to my dad’s new job. Not enough time for the family apparently. I scarcely ever see him, and when I do, he’s always working on paperwork, lot’s of clients here in Cali. Theadore. Wow.. Where to start with Teddy. You see, here in Cali, there’s lot’s of people…including totally buff hot surfer dudes. And buff hot surfer dudes turned out to be my sisters favorite type of guy. And her favorite past time. I don’t EVER see her. She’s always somewhere, claiming to be with her new “friends” (which happen to be stupid, tanned, preppy fall-all-over-every-hot-guy-we-see type of chicks) ,but is really screwin’ around with some guy.

School, well, school is about as bad. Friends, yea. I have none. Nope, not me, the new Hillbilly. Lemme tell ya, they haven’t seen hillbillies!!! They claim that I’m one, but no, they haven’t laid there perfectly made-up eyes on Copenhagen chewin, Beer chuggin, boot wearin , You -ain’t -a -redneck- till, potbellied, country folk clear plum in the Boondocks people. (note the very country accent) So me at school = all alone. Except for the one guy who doesn’t look like he spends all his days on a surfboard. He’s nice. Not good- looking, not ugly, just..kinda dorky. And my only companion. His names Nelpoit.

My mom doesn’t look nearly as vibrant as she did when we lived in our old home. No, her once bright green eyes have dulled considerably. And even though she tries to hide her discontentment, every day I look through her false cheeriness at it. Seeing that makes me feel sorrow.

Garen is still living in West Virginia in our old house. I talk to him every night for at least an hour. I miss him so. He’s like a brother to me. But he’s not the only one living in the house. Nope, along with my brother from another mother is his now 4 month old boyfriend…… none only than………Bryce. Yea, I know. My sisters old cheating man whorish love, is bi. Along with my gay “bro” Garen, which he is in a loving relationship with. Could my life be any more screwed up?? Wait, here’s the icing on the horrifically screwed up cake.

Brody, not only has 1 girlfriend. But 2! Wait, not done, add 2 more to that, and well, he has four. Four girlfriends!! How do I know this??? Garen. Yupp, more icing. I have Garen to thank for spying on brody. Well, not so much spying, but just…… looking out the window when he sees Brody come home…with a new girl. Every other day. Gawd, every time I think about the day Garen reluctantly informed me about this fact, I quiver with sorrow. So best not to think about it right?!!

Now my dad….don’t even ask. I talk to him a total of a half an hour a day. That’s it. We are living in a fairly nice apartment, close to the beach. I have my own room, but it’s not on the sizey side. But w/e, soon, ill be going to college. Where?? I have not decided yet. But definitely not here in Cali. Or W.V.

I’ve changed. Other than dying strips of my purple, it’s grown to my elbows. My bangs sporting on the right side of my face, a little past my nose. Which, now, is pierced. Along with my tongue, and belly button. Gone punk?? Me?? Nope, just wanna be different, which is totally allowed here. My style is still the same, my personality also. I’d still call myself pretty, with a little punk mixed in. I love the way I look. But my mother, I’d have to say ,does not approve in the least. She says I’ve turned into a rebel since we’ve moved. In a way I have. Think about it ,what would you do if you left the one closest to your heart. Without them knowing it.

After school on one normal Friday, I was strolling along the beach, books in hand, heading home. Well, it was hottttttt. Depends on where you are in Cali if it’s hot or not. What part your in. I was in the scorching part!!! If felt like this place was trapped in an aluminum can with the sun beating down on it. Not soon enough I made it into the air conditioned apartment we were living in. Of course, only my mother was home, why was I not surprised??

“Hey Mom.” I said, throwing my books onto the kitchen table, where my mom was sitting reading a cook-book.

I plopped down into the seat across from her, my head lolling back, catching the cool breeze of cold air.

“Do you want to Go stay with Garen for a while?? Summer’s coming in about 2 weeks, but I was thinking you don’t have to go the last week.” When she said this my head snapped up.

“I have some things to work out here, and I thinks it’s best if you’d go back to W.V with Garen for a while. So you don’t have to deal with the stress of this.” She grabbed my hand, with her own.

“I’m not sure how long you’ll stay, but at least for 2 weeks.” She looked at me expectantly ,thinking I’d wanna go back there. Where Brody was, with his 4 girlfriends and my heart lay. But the look in my mothers worn green gaze convinced me she needed this time. Without me in the way.
