“ Don’t worry Garen, you can stay with me.” I soothed, my voice full of remorse. I felt bad for him , I really did. Nobody deserves to be treated that way. At that point I was turning angry. Very angry.

“Really Kennedy,” He said looking at me skeptically “ I doubt your parents would let a guy stay in the house with two daughters.”

“Sure they will, once I tell them your gay. Then they’ll let you. My parents are very understanding.” I reassured him with a warm smile.

After he hugged me one more time he said we had to go to his house to get his stuff. As we were walking outside to go to his hummer, I saw Brody leaning against his crappy car holding Beverly by the waist, looking deep into her eyes. Trying not to be distracted by Brody’s presence, I climbed, quite clumsily, into Garen’s car.

His response to my not so graceful entrance was to laugh. Very hard. I pointed out to him that it was rude, but that just seemed to make him laugh even harder. After he was able to get air into his lungs, we finally took off toward his house.

“Listen, when I tell my parents I’m staying with you, they might not be happy.” He glanced at me worriedly.

“Wait, Let me get this straight. Your parents kick you out and won’t let you live with them, yet they won’t be happy about you staying with me?” I said, my voice getting squeakier with rising rage.

“Well, the thing is, it’s just , they know who you are. And who your parents are.”

“So?” I said, looking at him weird.

“Well, your dad’s a lawyer. And my parents got sued a couple of months ago. Your dad was the lawyer for the people suing us. They won, and we lost 300,000 dollars. My parents hold grudges. And I think they’re being ass holes. He was just doing his job, and apparently he’s good at it.” His cheeks flushed with anger.

“Well, I can handle my self. They don’t have a right to judge me or my family because of their stupid mistakes. Whatever they may have done for getting sued. I don’t like the way your parents treat you even though it isn’t any of my business. How did you put up with them all your life?”

“I didn’t. Usually I stayed with my nanny. They are always out on business, traveling. I never see them. They think money can make up for time with them.” I saw the look of hurt on his face right before his stare went blank.

“Fuckers.” I muttered under my breath.
